    Mazambo,
I would put a cane (18inch or so) in the middle of the pot and gently tie each plant onto it being careful not to crush the stem. Leave enough room for the stem to get thicker. Two of the plants are leggy and need some good light (a greenhouse would be perfect but a sunny window ledge may suffice). With good light they will thicken up. After another 3 weeks, I would pot them on to 10litre pots and this will give them enough room to grow up to about 1 metre. Cayenne is a medium/hot chili that will fruit early and is a mainstay when cooking spicy food. I always grow this type.
After transfering into the larger pot, start to feed the plants with Tomorite or similar every other watering. Good luck.

    Regards

They do look very leggy , personally I would try and transplant the ones with thin stems very deep. But I've never done that with chillies so they may suffer, but they look rather fragile.

I've got a bunch of 20l pots I was thinking of using, would this be too big do you think? Jalapeno, ring of fire, lemon drop, orange pepperoncini and locoto would go into them, probably this weekend as there is good weather forecast from then. Could always underfill them a bit I suppose

          JWK,
I agree that they do look very fragile. That was why I didn't suggest splitting them at this stage. I would say that light is the missing link here. With good light they may recover but without they will struggle to survive.

            Hanglow,
20litre pots are big but I have grown chilis in that size pot. Some people say that large pots promote lots of leaf growth and less fruit proportionally but I've always had decent results. I'm using a mix this year of 18 litre and 11 litre pots but I'm growing using hydroponics. I think that the only disadvantage of 20 litre pots is that you use twice the compost.

              JWK,
I know tomatoes will root from a buried stem and leggy tomatoes can be "fixed" by this method but I'm not sure about chilis. I may have to do a bit of reading.

I think I would definitely like to get them potted singly as soon as possible. Maybe 3.5in pots
If they are left much longer the root damage when you do come to split them up will be worse.

I dont think much damage would be done planting up to the seed leaves but not sure you should go much deeper than that I dont think chilli's or peppers make stem roots as easily as toms do.

Just support them temporally with a few twiggy bits if stick and put them somewhere light but mind they dont scorch as they dont look like they have seen proper daylight.

Mine are in their final 10 litre pots now, in peat free compost with Rootgrow:

I'm not sure chillies will root as they have a woody stem, but it's worth a chance. I sometimes plant things that have become leggy much deeper than recommended, brassicas for instance, they do not root from the buried stem for sure, but it stops them flopping about and gives them support until the stem thickens up.

@JWK those look good and should be happy there.

We are extremely late with ours this year and only sowed them in April instead of January  so shan't be picking them in June :dunno:. Fortunately the ShineyHybrids are quick growers.

The glass in your greenhouse looks nice and clean. Ours looks as though we have put shading on it as we haven't been able to clean the glass for years. For those of you that don't know our greenhouse, it is generally too crowded to get to the glass, too full to take everything out and too old to attempt to clean it in case it falls down. It's wooden, 50 years old and decrepit as me! :old:

Potted up in 4" rose pots, watered and put in the greenhouse. A couple are sulking a bit but should soon pick up. 20220510_103631.jpg
