@mazambo , why don't you use it? If you like salads, this could be really useful. Pea shoots are supposed to be delish!
Just seen joh, messaged you

I originally bought it for my African grey, sprouted seeds are very nutritious but if there's any mould it could kill her so i didn't want to take that risk so it's been in the spare room for a few years, be nice to see it used.

Darn tootin'. If things go right this year, I will have upwards of .... possibly thirty plants.

@mazambo I'll send you some as a way of thanking you. :-)

@Loki that looks like a Tupperware type container. They're perfectly fine for seed sprouting but should have a drainage hole (or holes).

That's the make we use. :dbgrtmb:

So for an update, here are the four small pots containing our Trinida Moruga, and the tray containing our cayenne and habanero seedlings. That earth looks quite dry, but I gently sprayed some moisture onto it last night, and shall do so again this evening, once the sun has passed over to the other side of the house. Some of the seedlings are looking quite fragile, and I dare not spray too much for fear of breaking the stalk.

I really need to clean that damn window, though. :th scifD36:

The sprouter has arrived. As you can see, the box has also come in useful. :yahoo:

I just put them into a Pyrex dish for a couple of hours. :-) And I ordered a couple of spray tops.

Half an hour may be long enough. You don’t want them too wet. :)

Well, they must have been dry, as I just went in like, what - twenty minutes later? And the 1 ½'' of water in the bottom of the dish had vanished!

They are growing well and it won’t be long before they need potting on as new leaves as forming.

I'm pretty useless at this. That's why I need to keep asking questions. Sorry. :-|

Two years ago, I had got to the same stage with my cayennes, when I decided to give them a bit of a gentle spray. So I did. Only after I had doused them in fluid, did I realise that I had picked up the bleach-based antibacterial spray that sits in the same corner of the kitchen work surface. :gaah:
