It is just used as a thickener. I also used chloroform as a preservative. I needed a poisons licence to buy it :)

One of my customers (a known, to me, criminal) tried to buy some off me for an 'inside job' :yikes:

Sounds more like Sweeney Todd to me, did you have a pie shop?

Wow @shiney I thought my ShineyHyrbrids were doing well but yours are just as prolific.

              What a dandy plant. :) :love30:

@CanadianLori There's a bit of a story to that but I'll cut it short. :) That plant was left (missed) and neglected in the corner of a propagator and had been there from last year. :rolleyespink: So we cut it back in January and apologised to it for ignoring it. Kept it nice and warm and watered and I have been eating the chillies for over a month now.

We keep them in smaller pots so that they don't grow too big but they are certainly prolific. :)

My peppers have been rubbish so far this year but this one is trying its best. It's from seed saved from a Lidl snack pepper. IMG_20230805_095315.jpg

Messed up my chilli jam by forgetting the pectin. So it's now a very nice sweet and sour chilli sauce IMG_20230807_192930265.jpg

I've been picking a few of my Aleppo chillies, and I know I wanted only mild ones, but these are no different to sweet peppers in taste. 20230815_103833.jpg

                            Hello Chili Pickers,

Harvest time again. Good success with Sweet Peppers, Cayennes and Jalapeños.

We've already had two batches of Poppers made from the large Jalapeños I've been trying this year and they were wonderful. Just picked another batch for a third. I'm getting a glut at the moment so it's time to vacuum pack and seal for freezing.

                            A few photos below......

Good variety of larger Jalapeños ideal for Poppers. Will be saving seeds for next year.

                            Cayennes for culinary use.

Thai Birds Eyes are also looking good but are a little bit behind the rest and are still green. More later when they are ready.

                            Best regards

                                Hi Pete,

If you use the search feature using "Poppers" under Ademission in the 2022 Chili forum, I gave a detailed description of how to make and cook Poppers. Try them as they are great.
