@Sandy Ground I'll have to go find my bible and work on translating this data... wait a minute ... @"M" sounds like you know what the mean... save me the trouble of translating?

I have made two batches of Christmas cake.. well, I ate one already and I did give away two small ones so now I only have 1/2 the large recipe left. I guess I'll make some more tomorrow morning. Got enough brandy to soak the fruit overnight. :)

We have put our inflatable lawn decoration - it is an orange muscle car with Santa at the wheel and two snowmen mechanics. I bought it years ago because it looks like our 70 'cuda. Still need to go out and string the lights and put up the phony pine wreath.

I just need to pick up 9 books for my grandchildren. I used to buy cards to put their Christmas money in but the cards get tossed in a moment and are expensive so I now buy them books that they can keep. And they still love getting the money too.

I have stocked up on butter (12 lbs) and other ingredients for baking my cookies. Here's a pic of the trays from last year which I will duplicate again this month.. After the car cover went on, the trays were stored out there in the cool garage.

          'cuda cookie tray 016.JPG

There are only going to be a few of us on Christmas day so I can get away with a small turkey.

New Years the fam damily is coming for brunch. Should be fun :)

Nothing to do here either. Non-Christmas number eight (or is it ten) coming up. A car picnic and a destination already chosen, it's so simple and relaxing. :)

We've decided to no longer help out serving meals on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve to the 'down and outs' in town. It has got too much for Mrs Shiney and we're leaving it to the younger people. So we're doing the same as @Sheal

I plan to! I should be getting a new kitchen *with* a working cooker next summer :fingers crossed: and then there will be no stopping me. Ah, the luxury of an oven which will do as its told will be a joy to behold :wub2:

Excellent idea! Might have to plagiarise that one

                      I do! Give me a mo .... :think3: ...
I'll save my breath then! :snooty:
                      :heehee:

Lovely idea  There is a particular area, not so far from me, which I've been meaning to go to and I think the idea of a picnic with a flask of hot soup would be a perfect way to visit it. Just not on the 25th ... I'll save that for after all the celebrations (we have a cluster of birthdays to navigate around too :heehee: ) and use it as New Year Reflection time
 From busy body to copy cat in one day. What are you like!? :heehee:

We are nearly all set for the big day and quiet looking forward to it this year as Mr Kandy is going to be doing most of it for the first time ever so I am going to enjoy every minute of it:Wino:

I already had a lot of the prezzies bought and wrapped before I went for my foot op and now we have Mr Kandys prezzie here it just needs wrapping to go with the stocking fillers I had already wrapped:biggrin:

We tried to get my prezzie before I had my op done but it was sold out the shop doesn’t know when they are getting more in so I might have to wait for mine until the New Year:ouch1:

Also I suddenly realised I had forgotten to get him a Xmas card so will have to see if I can hobble into a card shop after my dressing change next week :gaah:

Aside from that we have all the grub in the freezers, drink in the cupboards and the only things we need are the perishable stuff plus a chocky log as everywhere we have been to get one all the shops said we were too early and to try again in December:gaah: And there is me trying to get organised:sad:

Oh and Mr Kandy will be putting up all the decorations and lights outside. Our village makes a big thing of outside lights so I will get Mr Kandy to drive me round the village one evening so I can enjoy them all:biggrin:
