We've some Baileys unopened in a top cupboard, it's been there years. Probably best to smash the bottle and cut it up with a knife!

The drink can actually go solid if opened and left. The cream can go off as well. Baileys was originally owned by Gilbeys (Mrs Shiney worked for them back in the sixties and was also on their taste panel) and the brand was then sold to Diageo. Diageo have stated that if the cream goes solid, or off, before the use by date they will replace it. Otherwise they won't. I have no idea where they hide their use by date. :dunno:

John, I'm not sure about this but. My son-in-law mentioned a while back that most wines etc now have detailed labels, ie once opened drink within x days etc. Usually spirits and spirit based drinks tend to mature over time.

Your actual question. I believe the bottle is recyclable, I'd suggest supping or pouring out the contents. I understand from my daughter. Irish Meadow is equally as good as Bailyeys and hlf the price. Drink up and enjoy.

My dear friends. My tiny mind has been ticking over. Other words. I've been thinking. Daft but true. I do that at times. So. I have thunked quite a bit about this festive season. Please bare with me.
Check our yearly calender. Visiting the supermarket in August or there abouts. Subtle hints of the forthcoming festive season might already be making an entrance. So folk go about their daily lives. Strange fact of life here in the UK. The UK is classed as being the 4th or 5th richest nations in the world. So why do we have one of the highest poverty problems. Back to the festive season. Purse strings are tight. Shopping is such chore, for many. On-line shopping is a saviour. Now to the shopping list. We will need this etc, etc, etc. I must get so& so a gift. I will have to get a loan from the bank to pay for all of this, or use the plastic. Somewhere in the back of the mind a tiny voice asks why?

A common seasonal greeting. Happy Christmas. Come the New Year. The bank statement arrives and credit card bill. For so many. Sadly they have perhaps struggled to survive throughout the year. Now they have gone mad and spent far beyond their means. Happy????

Then th e festive season itself. This is made up of the so-call Christian part...the birth of Christ. Jesus is recorded in the Bible as God's first born, first creation. Biblical history tells us that Jesus was by miracle born to a viggin on earth. Biblically he became the Christ when he was baptised. Now just over 2000 yrs Jesus is still renervated as a baby. Wowee, just like Peter Pan. Very little is given to the purpose of his earthly birth.
Today the festive season is nothing but a giant commercial holiday.

I thought this was supposed to be a cheerful cheery thread

I give thanks for all the friendship, help and good wishes from everyone on here and elsewhere :wub2:. A lot of us do things to help those less fortunate and there's no need to spend a lot to do so. :dbgrtmb:

@Mike Allen ”Today the festive season is nothing but a giant commercial holiday.”

It’s what you make it. This year I have largely avoided the commercialism. Living in the country helps, online shopping helps and fortunately I was lucky enough to visit only one supermarket that had Christmas music blaring. It’s been fun having adult children here.

We didn't spend anything more than we would on a normal week and when I walked through the town centre to the library there were a number of rough sleepers. I went into the supermarket, bought a load of rolls and some cheese slices and made them up whilst sitting in the car. I then gave each of them a couple of rolls. :blue thumb:
