We usually schedule our next shopping order between boxing day and news years day and its dead as everyone is stocked up to the brim.

      We don't do Christmas :).

For almost 20 years or so we've used the time to get away from it all. That has meant being in some rather unusual and out of the way places such as up the Amazon, in the Atacama Desert, touring in Patagonia, Madagascar, Zanzibar, Java etc. That time of year you don't get many western tourists around :heehee: .

This year I think we'll be in a very exciting place, Shineyland! :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Traditional tea-total affair then, @HarryS :heehee:

I actually enjoy Christmas. I enjoy remembering Christmas' past and remembering those who are no longer with us but who made those Christmas' special. I like the way we all have to give a bit of extra thought to those we'll be spending the occasion with *their* likes/dislikes and in return, they afford us that little bit of extra thought.
Most years Mr "M" is working at Christmas so I like to make it as special as possible for the time he *is* able to be with us and, equally, special for those who are here while he *isn't* with us.
I like how it brings gaiety to a very drab Winter time.
If I focussed just on the commercialism of it - I'd probably dislike it intensely. But, then, I don't choose to focus on that aspect too much.

I love christmas. We usually have a house full of close family and friends on christmas day, either at my gaff or my sister's. Its going to be slightly strange this year though. Two close family lost, plus two that have split from their other halves. Still, it should save a bit of washing up.
