        @On the Levels , we were delighted when the first orchid, a Bee Orchid, appeared a few years ago. We now cross our fingers each year hoping that they return. So far this year we've found half a dozen leaf rosettes, so hopefully we'll get a few this year.

                Since our local council has been rewilding the verges I have seen the odd early purple orchid on the industrial estates and on my walking route into work. And I saw wild carrot once, but the next time I passed they had mowed that bit!

                            @Plantminded Lovely to see the much maligned dandelion. It actually is a very useful plant...young leaves can be used in salads, roots can be used for "coffee" (not very nice!) and the stems after flowering can be used as bubble pipes after the bees have been in and pollinated it.
                            Great to see your ribbed plantain. Another plant often dismissed but when you look closely it has a very fine structure.
