Close-ups of flowers

My first ever astrantia has put up its first flower spike - I hope they spread like yours! This is the second year I have tried to grow them; last year's bare roots disappeared without trace, and this year I only got 4 out of 6 to grow.

 

Fuschia - don't know which variety but it's very pretty and survived the winter.

And that Selfheal, that is now springing up all over the lawn. Hundreds of the little flowers.

 

The morning sun illuminating the gorgeous French rose Reine des Violettes was introduced in 1860.

 

As you can see I do love poppies.

The previous owner told us there would be some surprises! She did all the work. We are enjoying it.
We've put a few new plants in, but the majority are someone else's hard work. We are so fortunate.
