It may not be a very good close up, but on passing the Bramley this afternoon, I spotted a lone bloom among the ripening apples. Seasons gone mad. Bramley 19 6 24.jpg

I walked through an orchard a couple of days ago and saw a few bits of blossom amongst the young fruits that were forming, I dont think its that uncommon, even seen blossom in autumn on my own trees.

Woodsorrel. The flower itself is about 2mm across. Basically a "weed" amongst the gravel near the front door!!

                    First Helenium emerging.

                    DSC01210.jpeg

I planted a Thunbergia outside in April. After initially flowering well, it protested about the cold wet weather and stopped growing. This is the first flower to emerge after two days of warmth.

The lovely pale yellow blooms of Pelargonium Rushmoor Orinoko part of the Zonartic plant breeding line from Australia. It's presumed the first yellow flowered Pelargonium in commercial cultivation.

The growth of them is really like a species variety but the extraordinary double blooms make up for the messy appearance :)

Spent some more time in Sheffield Botanical Gardens last week. Some plants are 'unusual' but spend all year outside.
