    Flat end up Steve. It's weird, the shoots come before the roots. It lives on the tuber initially then replaces nutrition later.

    I think it's that time of year to kick start mine by bringing it into the house and keeping it warm. Ah well I guess Mrs S is used to sleeping in the greenhouse by now.

    Our Wilko's has no colocasia but does have alocasia at �£3 a tuber. I bought one last week and can't wait to compare them this summer. Got my colocasia in LoL-land last year. 2 corms for a euro. Gave one to a friend. Wish I'd bought some more.

    Ah a 'Joey Palm' (Johannesteijsmannia altifrons). I've always fancied these and a few years ago IKEA were knocking them out at a very reasonable price. That your plant John? If so I'm very impressed.
