    By George David, you strike again-That is exactly what the flowers looked like when they were open.

    This Collins wildflower book is old published 1960, I `ll have to scour the car boots for a newer one I think.

    I`ll find another something for you before long.

    Just had a look on some stuff and it isn`t that either-I don`t know, I`ll put this one to bed I think.

    When you said Knotweed I thought "Oh no! Not Japanese knotweed!!"

    Having looked at Polygonum bistorta superba I think it's a match.

    I'll try moving/dividing a bit and keeping it in the sun - maybe next year I'l get some flowers and all will be revealed. At the moment it isn't in the way so as long as it's not doing ay harm I'll leave it.

    Thank you all for your suggestions and information. (I'm having a good day - just identified something in my garden as Indigofera so it's not a weed, it's be driving me crazy for weeks!)
