Pro' I spent a few years when I was a bit younger than you, on my knees, crawling up and down a coal face. Standing up wasn't often an option due to low headroom. I know just what you feel with the straps at the back, but it's worth putting up with that to save problems later.
Still got my old ex-pit knee pads and use them when I've got protracted kneeling jobs on hard surfaces - they aint posh gel-filled ones though :(

Walnut, The suplier I buy my chemicals from does non peat based compost in ( 60 litre bags for 3.10 plus vat a bag with discounts for bulk (full pallet of 50 bags)

Not sure what the delivery costs would be or if the compost would be suitable for your needs but it might be worth investigating and buying a sample.

Ive never bought compost from them only chemicals but have used a similar product.

( Its a blend of chipped bark and composted green waste with a neutral ph and a fairly grainy texture) ( not like the sawdust based junk thats often sold as compost!)

    Details are

Premier Tree and shrub planting compost

    ALS (Amenity Land Services Limited)

No web ordering but website is www.amenity.co.uk
