Rather than add the thousands of leaves, currently falling, to my compost I plan this year to make a separate leaf mould producing heap.

Has anyone some ideas about this?

not an expert on this but i do know in the wild so to speak they just pile on top of each other and at the bottom you have leaf mould, conclusion,do as you would with a compost bin,but would avoid sycamore leaves, sorry not more helpful [IMG] [IMG]

We suck them up with the garden vac which also shreds them and then store them in bin liners.
In the past we've also used containers made from chicken wire to contain the leaves.
In the spring and summer we gradually add the semi-decomposed leaves in thin layers to our compost heap and compost bins as this help provide a green-brown balance.
