compost is too wet and smelly

    My main concern there is that rats could then get in. I'm not sure whether this would even be an issue, but I don't want to risk it.

    They're unlikely to move in Clueless unless there's scraps from meals in there, meat etc. But I think most of us know not to put those in.

    I have a dalek bin with no base and haven't seen longtails anywhere in my garden. If they wanted to get into your wheelie bin they would chew their way through.

      I just got some worms for my compost bin what do there eat

      Whatever is in your compost bin Andrew, they do the composting. :)

        They eat vegetable material. Kitchen waste, garden veg and leaves and also will chomp their way through paper and card as it disintegrates.

        I got a barrels for compost and worms if I was to put a cover around the barrel was should I use

        The detergent will add nitrates, and feed the bacteria. In any case, killing the bacteria is exactly what you don't want to happen in a compost heap.
