compost

    Hi Paladin, I can't say I've noticed any more problem with bindweed, dandelions and ground elder in the 4 years since I got the shredder. I always have problems with them anyway! They come up in certain places which aren't where I 've put the compost. Do you think it is seed s which escape composting, or bits of root?

    It's just that I threw everything into my heap years ago and the roots of the bindweed grew and spread where ever I composted. Bind weed was new to me,we never had it where I lived before up on the Cotswolds so I had a hard lesson.
    Now I light a fire and cover the embers with non compost materials and cap with soil to create a kind of kiln,no smoke,no stink just ash which goes around my tenders.
