Cooking the Christmas Ham

    I usually cook it in the pan with bay leaves, onion and peppercorns. Simmer for about 3 hours, then remove fat and cover in a mixture of honey, brown sugar and English mustard and roast for about an hour and keep basting with the mixture as it cooks.

      After cooking our Christmas ham yesterday, Mrs Trunky hit upon the idea of using the resulting stock as a base for a soup, made up with some parsnips and celeriac which needed using up.

      I must say the result was extremely tasty. :dbgrtmb:
