Well, it seems pretty clear that the death rate is bumbling along around where it normally would be at this time of year, which makes me wonder how many of the folks that are being said to have died "with coronavirus" as it is reported (very cleverly saying with, and not because of), actually died because of something else (heart failure, cancer and so on) and their death is being recorded as coronavirus just because they have been tested post mortem and tested to have or have had the virus

My old Mum had liver cancer, but they said she died of pneumonia.
Which she did, but I dont think the liver cancer was helping much.

Just wonder how many people are picking this up while actually in hospital for other things:scratch:

I've no doubt that folks are getting it all over the place, but I do also wonder exactly as you say - how many folks are going into hospital for other things, catching it but also not showing any symptoms of it, and then dying with their death recorded against the statistics as Covid.

It's one of those things, a while back all bad news was blamed on Brexit,.

Now Corona is in the frame for pretty much every death that happens.

Bit of a dodgy comparison I know, but that's how the news people work.

May I say a very big thank you for all your concern and helpful information. I have been stuck indoors for four weeks, perhaps longer. Managed to catalgue some of my microscope slides and potter a bit in the greenhouse. I seem to spend more time dozing off.

Anyway. Thanks again for your concern. Best wishes to your dad Upsy.

Got to be honest, I am sick of listening to the BBC. As I am working at home just now, I have the TV on the background just for noise, and it is often on BBC in the morning because that is what Mrs C has been watching before she goes to work; they would have you slitting your wrists the way they go on. "Here is your daily dose of what you should think.." and so patronising with it.

If I see that nurse putting on that gown and hat again I'll probably throw something at the TV, they have been showing the same old bits of film for the last three weeks.

They just will not come off the subject.

And dont mention that complete loud mouthed idiot on ITV, the one who asks questions and then interrupts every answer.

I often see where it says "had underlying conditions". I don't think every death can be specific.

Mike, can you not spend a little time a day in your garden/greenhouse? Stay on here and join in the banter.
