I managed to get a delivery slot from Asda just after midnight. Yes its a pain but do try after midnight as the supermarkets make a small number of delivery slots available.
I'm just hoping some items are available, plus I have room in the freezer

I saw that on the news a while back, it just shows how quickly nature would take back control once humans leave the planet.

I had a similar conversation with one of the staff in Waitrose a couple of weeks back..

The lady said "I can see a baby boom looming in nine months time"

I replied "no there shouldn't be,don't forget the 2 meter rule"

"Ahhhh she said, ofcourse, well thank heavens for that it saves me making headache excuses"

Soooo now you know the reason why the paracetamols went flying off the shelves.

Yippee. A one hour test for the disease has been approved by our government. Hopefully when they get this one rolling, it will really speed up revaluations (is that a word?) about timelines for isolating. Instead of waiting for days, one hour will tell all:yes:

Apparently, according to a professor on the BBC today, we have just reached the total amount of deaths that would be expected in a "normal" flu outbreak.

So from here on in, things are different.
He also said the death rate at the moment is running at about 1 percent of cases.

These are not my figures, that is what he said.

That is the figure of how many have been tested.
They dont actually know how many people have it or have had it, so like all of this complete mess they just make suppositions.

Funny how they have figures of how many have it, who are basically just the few that have been tested, yet they dont have figures of how many have recovered.

Maybe to tell us that the sensationalism that they all like these days wouldn't have the same effect.

And the crazy reporters asking the same questions every night on TV and getting the same answers. Who can say when this lock-down will end?

The comparative figures for all the countries is, and can't be, comparable. It would depend on what percentage of the population have been tested and put against the recorded deaths due to the virus.

We are not testing as many people per day as many other countries are. Therefore our recorded numbers of people with the virus is much lower in proportion. So we are likely to have many multiples of the recorded figure that have the virus but are not counted.

My nephew has had it very badly and the other four in his family have had it from bad to mild. He was bad enough for 111 to tell him that they would arrange for someone to come round and check him (he's in the very vulnerable group) but nobody contacted him! He's now in week four and only just starting to pull out of it. He and his family have not been recorded in the figures.

Even if they recorded how many people that called 111 that are likely to have had it then it would still be a guess and wouldn't include those who didn't phone.

The figure of deaths is also not accurate. The ones listed are only those that have died in hospital 'with' the virus and not 'of' the virus - although those can be much more closely estimated. They don't include those who have died in care homes or at home and they are not showing how many people have died of other causes compared to those numbers in previous years.

So it is likely that the numbers that have, or have had, the virus is many multiples higher than listed but the number of deaths due to the virus is unlikely to be that many multiples. Which is probably how the 'experts' come to their overall percentage of deaths compared to those people actually having the virus.
