    Another nail in the coffin of the EU - when Italy were in need - the EU immediately responded with a good stiff ignoring. The true nature of the EU states revealed as France/Germany restrict exports of ppe:

    "Yes it is true that no one was really ready for this," Ursula von der Leyen told the European Parliament on Thursday morning. "It is also true that too many were not there on time when Italy needed a helping hand at the very beginning. And yes for that, it is right that Europe as a whole offers a heartfelt apology. More than 21,000 people with the virus have died in Italy, according to Johns Hopkins University - the highest death toll in Europe

    As Italy struggled to contain the outbreak in early March, both France and Germany placed restrictions on the export of face masks - despite warnings from the EU Commission that such actions could undermine the collective response to the virus."

    No such restrictions within the UK - ppe flowing to where it is needed - NI sending gowns and England/Wales sending NI eye protection.

          Italy have been repeatedly dumped on but also, they haven't really helped themselves either. Not saying that's an excuse but as a country their management even well before CV19 has not helped anything. Would not be surprised to see plans for exit being discussed...

            There seems to be more and more kids visiting parents and some bringing the grand kids around here, I really cant see anyone accepting what was being said on the news this morning.


            "Social distancing might have to go on until they come up with a vaccine".

            Are they really serious, that they intend producing a vaccine and everyone in the world will get it, its crazy, and that amount is probably a couple of years away.
            We need some better thinking than that from the scientists, or is that just some political numpty coming out with this.

                  Good afternoon look it is what it is,we just get on with it,no looking for someone to blame,its not an upheaval,an upheaval is being called up having 6 weeks training then finding yourself on a Destroyer/Minesweeper being bombed by stukas with a submarine tracking you and deciding to sleep on the deck ,by your Pom pom gun,not seeing Blighty for 3 years ,escorting Russian convoys to Murmansk with your ship covered in 6 inches of ice,being the first ship to reach Malta with food and fuel with the SS Ohio strapped to the side of your destroyer because her back was broken,sorry about this but that's upheaval ,I get off my soapbox now,in fact I'll get my coat:old:

                        Just got a letter from the Nationwide, they have dropped the interest on my savings because of the virus outbreak I'm now getting 0.10%, yeah any excuse.
