Went in morrisons this morning and they were selling flour in bags that they had weighed out in the store.
As this gets over the problem that they cant get it in small bags , but sacks of it is widely avilible I thought it was a good idea.

Just seen something which I think is crazy on the tv.

An elderly woman with terminal cancer in a hospice, they said it had been weeks since she had seen her family, unyet a reporter was there talking to her with a microphone on a pole.
Is this really happening , people being isolated from family, and we are all told only essential travel, but the reporters are still there hanging around on street corners and wandering around as if things are normal.
Its obviously not as bad as they say it is if this is still going on.

Agree with you Pete but, often time and appointments can be eased if some people took more responsibility for themselves and didn't run to A&E or the GP surgery for such minor things as the odd spot or pimple and or what some consider to a day out, when they are feeling quite fine.

For instance. My GP practice continue to send me reminders that it's that time of year and I should have a BP check. This usually follows my hospital check-up, when My BP is checked, Sats and ECG. and the GP is notified.

Another thing that annoys me is. Despite modern technology. The number of times we have to fill in pages of personal information for to the same departments.

Doctors are getting very worried that patients aren't contacting them for appointments when they really should. I watch the early morning interviews with GPs and they're all saying that they are now getting so few enquiries that they are 'seeing' (by phone, video and in person) as little as 50% of their normal amount. People are not presenting themselves when they could have serious problems either because they are scared or because they don't want to overload them.

Today's GP said that her partner GP that was on duty with her was sent home because they didn't have enough to do!

So, if you don't feel well, or if you think there is something wrong with you, you should phone your surgery. They will tell you if they are too busy.

Think it depends on the practice, tried contacting mine for a prescription but the phone is always busy. It was like that before all this lot started, they only have one phone line.
Had to write a note and put it in the letter box.

We have a big issue here with repeat prescriptions, stuck in a catch-22 situation.

We could see this sort of problem when the virus first kicked off, so my wife registered with the NHS online delivery service (well.co.uk). She thought once registered the service would kick in automatically. It hasn't. Unfortunately it seems well.co.uk are waiting for our Dr to approve the application (this is after about 2 months!). We can't get hold of the doctor to prompt them. We couldn't ever call our surgery, same as pete's, they never answered the phone, so in the past we just popped down there and talked to a receptionist. The annoying thing was the receptionist just keyed a few things into their computer and up popped a repeat prescription or an appointment. Why that system couldn't be made available online is a mystery. Now you can't turn up unannounced and you can't ring what are we supposed to do?

If the doctor's really have nothing to do it's a crazy situation of their own making. You can't email them, contact them online, phone or visit. Don't they realise they have effectively boarded up the shop? To blame patients worried about getting infected is wrong, they need a few admin staff to man their phones, it's as simple as that.

Hope your note get's answered @pete do let us know as that might be the alternative.
