One of the main advisers to the government broke the rules by seeing his lover :wallbanging::help::thud::doh:

I don't think the Government or NHS has said it would go away:dunno: Even in March Medical "experts" were saying it would probably return as the same as Flu, which is why the general opinion seems to be that only a Vaccine will bring a proper halt to it but even then it won't just disappear. But you can see why the Government is very reluctant to ease the Lockdown as too much too soon will result in a return.:cat-kittyandsmiley::coffee:

Popped down to Tescos to give the car a good run and charge the battery. The Tesco car park was absolutely heaving (in fact looked like any other day). I drove in and straight out and went to our local shops. No queues, no fuss and plenty of stock.

As Loofah said in his post above yours @JWK, comparisons can't be made because of population density. We must remember that we live on an over populated island so numbers are bound to be high, particularly in England. I don't think it was the governments lack of taking it seriously, more that, in the early weeks they didn't understand how to deal with it.

Oops! Just been interrupted by a power cut.

The population here in Scotland is about 5.50 million, not as densely populated as England. Current virus figures stand at.....confirmed 12, 709 and deaths 1,703.

Builders are back to work today and things are looking up,..ever so slightly,..to date we have had 1.375 deaths in the 26 Counties which isn't really bad compared to other Countries though we did have a very early shutdown.

I really hate people who cash in on other peoples problems.

My grandson is courting a lass who is attending University of Greenwich. Her aim is to become a paramedic. Her family live in Leeds.

Her study course includes more time on the road driving ambuances and treating sick ones. She is based at Chelmsford.. So the poor lass was finding a very lonely life. At uni she was on her own. So Josh and she decided to find accommadation. They located a basically one room egg box in Swisss Cottage London. This has been advertised as being emergency home for NHS workers. It cost them over £2000. At least now. Emma was no longer on her own. Scuse me. Are there and bedding. That will cost you more, payable in advance. Then a big blast from Uni. Due to the pandemic. Uni is put on hold. Yes she could go back home for the duration. NO. Sorry you can't have a refund etc. Honestl I ask you. How can these shrks get away with it.

Why do twice as many people die each day Tues - Sat, as on Sundays and Mondays?

They don't count them as much in the weekend, so on Tuesday it's higher.

Watch the press conference on Monday the government is going to reduce the lockdown a bit. I still don't feel confident for it to happen.

Is it safe to see a gp at this moment in time?

If your surgery is operating correctly then it would be safe.

Most GP's are doing video or phone consultations and they will tell you if they need you to come in.

No waiting room but straight in for your appointment. If they are running late, unlikely as they should be allocating more time per patient, you should be waiting outside (or in car if raining). The GP should be masked and gloved except when they may need to examine you without the encumbrance of gloves (very rarely). Door handles etc. should be wiped down but it would be easier for you to wear disposable gloves anyway.

There is no reduction on Saturdays, and the Tuesday increases are only about one tenth of the Sunday/Monday reductions.

I think you are supposed to look at the 7 day average.
The way they collect the figures appears to be a bit suspect or at least not reliable.

Yes, which makes the 'daily totals' announced each day a load of nonsense and misleading.
