Hiya @JWK thank you so much for that lovely post, that is so sweet of you. I always leave straight away hun, I'm somewhat of a keyboard warrior friendly and chatty online but in real life terribly shy, so dont like to sit with strangers so I tend to go out and sit in my car for 10 mins and then go home. Its awful isnt it I get in a tizz going food shopping once a week, and then yesterday a weirdo tried making conversation in the queue ....I was happy to get inside but then saw him on almost every aisle with him joking that we meet again, so was happy to walk to my car, but was fidgeting to find my car keys (typical womans handbag, everything but the kitchen sink in it) and then he pulled up along side me to ask if I was ok ....he may have been a genuinely nice guy but to me he was a serial killer hahah

A friend of ours has a relative in a care home. She was terminally ill but had been given a Covid test two days before she died, which turned out negative. They didn't receive the result of the test until after she had died and put Covid on the death certificate. When the family objected they were told it was too late.

I'm sure there are similar situations in Care Homes.

I can also understand the view of the Home. At the time of death they really thought she had Covid. The admin necessary to change the certificate is, apparently, very convoluted and they just don't have the time as they're struggling enough as it is.

@shiney I can understand that, but it's so sad that there isnt a way, even post panademic time that they can change it officially.

Interesting that you mentioned that @shiney You reminded me of some friends of mine in the UK.

Back when all this began, my friends went into voluntary self isolation. This was in part due to the fact he has kidney problems, and his wife has heart trouble, and they are both getting on in years. Well, after about 5 weeks or so, he began to show signs of Covid, and was admitted to hospital. The first test showed negative, as did three subsequent ones! His condition deteriorated, he was put in Intensive Care, and on oxygen. He began slipping in and out of consciousness. Things were looking so bad his wife was asked to sign a DNR approval. Luckily, she refused. The fifth test showed positive. I'm pleased to say that even if he is still in a bad way, he is showing signs of improvement.

I do wonder though how much faith we can have in the tests, if, as in this case, 80% gave what I believe to be the incorrect answer.

What I find strange in cases like this is that some one who has been self isolated for 5 weeks gets CV.
When there are millions wandering around and not getting it.

Unusually for me to be cynical :) but I reckon he caught it in hospital.

I think I agree with you here pete... I caught MRSA in hospital.

What I find amusing, is that people who have ever exercised in their life are suddenly eager to do these things. Parks and such likes are heaving with people, not here I might add, and I wonder how many visited them in the past. It is not a bad thing as there are too many overweight folk and sitting on their butts at home watching TV or playing games doesn't help. One can exercise at home, even in a flat.

Well if exercising and going to parks is the only legal way you can get out the house I think you can see why they are doing it.

That is assuming you have no garden or balcony/patio. Stay at Home does not mean physically with the four walls and I wonder how many people are using this as an excuse. Legally you can go to a grocery store or DIY shop, etc ... I am sure there are many folk who could walk there. Besides, I read you get your Garden Centers open on Wednesday ... how lucky can you be!
