    What a farce
My Son in law, on Furlough has so far had four weeks holiday on full pay whilst he landscapes his own garden, Also he is £340 a month better off, not having to pay commute and meals at work
I think the chancellor got those sums wrong Stay at home save the NHS save Lives and enjoy your extra long holidays with extra cash DUH

My other Daughter, hubby and children decided on total isolation as I am, yet now seven weeks down the line, none of us have any symptoms, yet I can only meet one of their family, only
in a public place and maintain safe distance of six feet
    CRAZY

My daughter returns to work at the beginning of June, she is a driving instructor in Canada. The driving schools cars will be fitted with a clear screen between the front seats and instructors will wear masks.

This virus really is costing the earth, whatever way you look at it and you can't help wondering if and where it will end.

Forgive me for rambling on, but I consider my GC friends as my extended family, hence why I often give away family secrets. Yesterday afternoon the phone rang, disturbing my forty winks. It was the grandson. Hi grandpa, it's Josh. I'm outsid with Emma (his girlfriend. The paramedic student).
On my way Josh. So mounting my strusty steed, stair lift , I arrived at the front door. Another strange quirk of the english language, as the door is at the side of the building. Nere' mind as they would say up norf'. There stood Josh and this tiny, tiny wee lass. I welcomed them and said how nice it was to meet Emma for the first time. I couldn't help it but.......So Emma how the hell do you manage to drive that big yellow taxi around. (Yellow taxi is a common term used by police referrring to ambulances (ambos) Trupton is police for fire and rescue). Anyway we all got off to a friendly start. Josh & Emma had driven over from Swiss Cottage and bought me two large bags of shopping. I naturally insistead upon paying. NO. Josh has a fine education but is doing what most would call a real crappy job. Past two weeks he's earned zilch.

I have to admit, upon saying bye for now and closing the door This old bugger had a bit of a wet eye. Amanda phoned later and said. You have taken care of us. Now it's your turn.

So Covid-19 get lost. Mike is planning a good meal out.

How sad. That poor woman who was spat at and has died. There must be a forum thread here.
Keep your distance Mister. Stay Safe and try and enjoy life.

Waking to the latest situations. NB re shopping. We are told to wash down eg shopping wearing gloves before letting it in as the virus can live on various surfaces a long time. And of course it will have been handled by any number of folk. Mine comes over by ferry and is left outside the gate so I emerge well gloved, soapy cloth in hand and decant the contents of each box when they have been washed. eg cases of cat food get left outside for at least a week.

Yes I saw that re the poor lady who died after being spat at. And that she had serious underlying health issues and had asked her boss to take her off frontline work. He has a lot to answer for too.

Been to a Blue Diamond garden centre this morning, arriving shortly after opening time. No queues, well organised, and very few customers. Spent £69 on plants :yikes: , can't remember last time (if ever) I spent that much at a garden centre, but all very good quality plants and I'm not driving around looking for something cheaper.

Was beginning to wonder if we wouldn't have a front garden display here for the first time in 30 years.

Went to Hairdresser yesterday afternoon. Hand sanitiser on entry, disposable shoulder gown and had to wear mask, felt a bit bizarre ... and probably looked worse! :heehee: Ready for Summer now ... when it arrives.

One of our ... deeply rural..... TDs . Danny Healy Rae, when we were told that a proportion of arrivals in Ireland refused to give the address of where they were self-isolating, opined in his inimitable and often indecipherable Kerry burr, that they should be jailed on Spike Island. I leave the exploring to you. NB he is notorious for bizarre utterances eg that drivers on Kerry roads should be exempt from drink driving laws. NB the Healy Raes are publicans

In time, in time, I don't like Selfies so I'll get T'other Half to do one. Everyone knows what I look like anyway, last one in October when I had my hair cut short for the first tine in 50 years. :yikes:

From local news site - organisation that promotes Snowdon:

We've seen a massive spike in traffic on the site, so looks like many are planning to walk up Snowdon soon ... Please remember that Snowdon and all other beauty spots across Wales are closed.

People don't realise (or don't care) that Boris does not have the say when it comes to coronavirus in NI, Wales and Scotland - we're all still in lock down. We are different countries with our own rules.

The North Wales PCC wants fines rising to £1k -£3k for those flouting the lock down. Should keep the boys in blue busy.

Just seen the packed tube trains in London - impossible to stay 2m apart - I fear there is going to be a second peak in London.

Of course there will be, and a third and a fourth, its the only way we get out of this.
I still think they are deluded if they think it will just go away, they are just putting off the inevitable.
I think they know it but cant tell us as it wouldn't go down very well in the PC world we live these days, there is always a vaccine there is always a cure.;)

Only nature cures things like this.

Well, I'm betting on the brainiacs at Oxford coming up with a vaccine in the next couple of months. Not seen anything in the media about how the human trials have gone.

Apparently, we're going into recession - no shot Sherlock....
