I've been going shopping as rarely as possible and wearing mask and gloves each time and using antiseptic spray on handles at the supermarket. All the places I go the distancing is strictly adhered to but I only go at wrinklies times and we all seem to have the same fears and keep well apart. In the queue at Sainsbury's everyone was friendly and more than 2 metres apart but there was one younger woman in front of me (the only one I saw in the queue) and when she got to the door she was stopped by a member of staff and asked for her NHS or Carers pass. She said she wasn't in the NHS or a carer so she was asked to leave the queue and either come back at 9 a.m. or she could wait on one of the chairs that were spaced out in the car park.

Trump has been getting stick from his ex chief medical advisor after he was sacked for saying that Trumps idea for taking Chloroquine to kill the virus was rubbish (didn't quite use those words). Bolsonaro (President of Brazil) has just sacked his advisor (forced to resign) for saying the same about him recommending it! Bolsonaro is also saying all shops should open although Brazil's R number is rising. Some of Brazil's state governors are keeping the lock down.

We're allowing one person at a time to come round, to buy plants and look round the garden, whilst keeping at least three metres apart. We're fortunate to be able to do that safely with a completely open side entrance, through the car port, and plenty of room to do distancing. Plants are boxed (boxes are taken from Budgen's discard cages whilst wearing gloves and then isolated for two weeks) and boxes laid on the ground for the people to take. We wear gloves all the time and my gloves are very thin leather (as pliable as cotton) and are washed at the end of the day. I have seven pairs of them so they only get worn once a week. They must be the cleanest gardening gloves ever. :heehee:

Younger friends also bring shopping for us and that gets quarantined. We're trying our best. :noidea:

From the beeb - is this why Dogs are called 'man's best friend'....

Coronavirus: Trial begins to see if dogs can 'sniff out' virus

If this trial is successful - I'll have to pick myself up off the floor. We're throwing absolutely everything we have at the virus.

Thought I'd add a piccy taken this morning (no particular reason)

The trouble is, clanless, is that Dogs have a habit of sniffing each others Bums, so does this mean they'll be using the Dogs to sniff our Bums:dunno::scratch::doh:

I know a cancer sniffing dog. Apparently he has had 100% success. :dbgrtmb:

I was interested to see that in Australia the Customs even have dogs that can sniff out concealed money. :rolleyespink:

It is surprising what dogs know about humans.
And they get lots of their info from certain smells

Who knows, maybe Covid does have a certain smell.

I know that dogs are already used for sniffing out cancer, Parkinson's and malaria so they are probably used for other problems as well.

Some pets can also be listed as Emotional Support Animals (ESA) and allowed in the cabins of aircraft.

I was behind a woman in the queue at the supermarket last week and she had an assistance dog with her.
She was talking to the woman on the till and explained she was epileptic and the dog warns her if she has an attack coming on.

Dogs are amazing, I work in an opticians and we have a chap who comes in, he has medical problems but not blind at all, but has a labrador called William, William helps Barry out of bed, weve had the full party of tricks that William does like picking his hat up etc when it drops, such a clever dog, but he said because of his leads with high vis jacket saying please dont pet me I am a working dog, people assume he is blind.... he said he went into morrisons once and was stood with William in the queue and a couple of lads kept looking at him then at William, and they pushed in in front of him, he showed us that William barks on command if he moves the leads a certain way, so he did this to the lead and William barked and Barry said to him "what's that William someone has pushed in front of me in the queue", and again moved the lead and William barked again....he said the look on the lads faces was a picture :yay:

I haven't had time to check the figures (probably won't bother) but I wish they would expand properly on the stats they put out.

They said that about 25% of people that have died of Covid had diabetes. I don't dispute the figure but it's totally misleading just on its own. It doesn't say they died from Covid because of having diabetes.

They also don't say, at the same time, that an extremely large proportion of the population that have died of Covid are elderly and that an extremely large proportion of the elderly have diabetes. Neither do they say that there is any correlation between the two.

I take a bet that a large proportion of the people that have died of Covid had false teeth. This is based on the fact that well over 10 million older people have dentures. I don't think that having dentures has an effect on whether you die of Covid. :dunno:

What about all the sweets they ate that caused their diabetes? I think you're possibly onto something there :ideaIPB:

Well I'm still waiting for the figures of how many have recovered.
It's been called a war against the virus, I'm yet to see any positive propaganda.
Clap for the NHS yeah but all the doom and gloom suggests they aren't doing very well.
And I'm sure that is not the case.

UK virus deaths dip to lowest level since March

Lowest deaths for some time, but weekends delay reporting so once again these figures are nonsense.

Why isn't the 7 day average being reported?

EDIT: "Northern Ireland is not included in today's figures due to a technical issue"
