It is made all the worse by the flamin' strapline at the bottom of the first image about Covid tests being turned around in 24hrs - - seriously, what is the point with this lot going and doing this?

Don't get me wrong, I saw the footage of what happened to George Floyd and it is utterly horrific, and most definitely is a situation that needs addressing, but surely this is not the way to do it?

I think they got the wrong country.
Some people just love a demonstration and will join in.

I agree with you FC. Since the lockdown started I've noticed that the higher percentage of people flouting the regulations are between 20 and 40 years of age. Do they think it's their given right to ignore what the rest of us abide by?

Today I had to take my car to the garage to have it's rims with winter tyres switched to the summer set and had them look for the source of a new, nasty noisy in the engine area. I had no problem social distancing because the price on the quote to repair it was large enough to see from a distance!:heehee: I usually leave my purse in the car whilst there for quick maintenance like this morning but I do caution the fellows not to go into it and :nonofinger:use my lipstick.

I see there are a lot of objections about the 14 days quarantine for travellers flying back from holidays. I don't see what all the fuss is about, they just have to stay at home for a couple of weeks, isn't that what we have already been doing for 10 weeks?

Panic can and does totally change people, sad to say. Those we so often refer to as youngsters, appear at times as if there is no tomorrow.

The latest demonstrations really are an insult to everyone who has done their utmost to put the lid on this virus. One demonstration could well easily light the touch paper and, start the whole thing off again.

I was very saddened to learn the trials of our blind neighbours. So often I ask myself when trying to unwrap something. How the hell do blind people cope. Then to read some of the accounts of physical abuse.

Regarding the plight of one blind woman, having difficulty with getting on-line shopping slots. My daughter Amanda takes care of that for me. You all know my story. Amanda phoned Tescos and mentioned the problems experienced. The Tesco chap told her, she wasn't on the vulnerable list, neither was I. So much for HM Gov's listing. Anyway he added Amanda's name to the list. Now she is able to, if so desired. Book a slot every day of the week, plus the delivery charge is down to basic.

Mr Trump! Honestly. Where is this man coming from? Using todays cyber technology. Honestly. He is like a big kid. The silly comments he posts. Even 12 year olds must be asking. And he is supposed to be the most powerful man on earth!!!!!!!!???????????

They stopped (two weeks ago, I think) giving the admin people at Tesco the chance of assessing you and adding you to the list. You can now only get on the list by applying to the government website, if you're not already on the list sent out to the supermarkets by the government. To qualify to be on that list you need to comply with some stringent rules. Apart from a letter from your doctor you would then need to 'Shield' for another 12 weeks :rolleyespink:

All those 'youngsters' in that demo think they won't get Covid because they have been selectively reading the reports and statistics put out by the government and the ONS. Unfortunately they don't bother to correlate the statistics properly. Although the majority of risk is for the elderly, people with certain health conditions and people in certain ethnic and societal groups it still leaves room for hundreds of thousands of them to contract the disease and for many thousands to die of it.

Agreed. My nephew is half my age and twice as fit and healthy as me, the virus knocked him for six, it took him a while to recover during which time he caught another bug. I have never known him to be ill before so if he got it anyone can.

Trouble is when you are young you think you are indestructible.

Well I am livid seeing these reports,I can understand to a point the 'young' ones thinking naaah it won't happen to me but as @Sheal has already mentioned it's the 40/50 year olds that seem to be flaunting the rules just as much...as an example...I spoke to a neighbour of my Mums yesterday...they said they hadn't seen Mum for ages..I told them they wouldn't as she is 'shielding'...I got a sarcastic stare and a reply of "well I don't know what all the fuss is about"...I could have argued the toss but refrained as I am now getting used to the ignorance of :mute: like that...I tell you what If Covid doesn't get me a bloody heart attack will..makes me very angry...:gaah:

I still think we are all going to end up with some form of this virus before we get out of this stupid situation, well, most anyway.
They keep telling us it's not going to go away and I don't think it is,not by this method anyway.
They are just stalling for time at the moment, a vaccine maybe but it's not coming as fast as they said it would.
A treatment could be a better response maybe.

Just seen the pictures of that idiot MP standing in the commons mopping his brow, and he admitted he was not feeling well.:roflol:

I dont think there is much hope of sorting this mess out if those that are telling us what to do are carrying on like this moron.

                          Its totally unbelievable.

He should have left when he started feeling unwell. At least he turned out not to have Covid. They managed to get his results very quickly

There's a theory amongst some of the scientists that the high peak in the deaths and catching of Covid was the second peak and not the first. Does it make any difference? :dunno:
