Which kind of puts it into perspective, but are the current rates going to continue for 40 yrs?
If so I dont think I'll bother hanging around to find out.

Bearing in mind how things have to be in order to keep it at the current rate.;)

These scientists could well be right - they could equally be wrong - the only way we will know is in time. Of course, this is the trouble when government policy is dictated to by scientists who happen to agree with each other....... until of course they disagree and it is then the government of the day that looks to have been stupid whilst we have paid for it all.

Another 357 deaths in the last 24 hours in UK.
What are we not doing right?

@pete I'm trying to picture what you'd look like with a sock on your face. If you go that direction, please wash the sock after you've removed it from your trousers :heehee:

Well not puzzling really, its just that there is this very long time lag regarding deaths and new infections.
If you want to know the actual situation now you look at new infections, the death rate is mostly infections from more than a month ago, even two months in some cases.

The Ch. Insp. Addressed his next question to the trembling young lady cashier. Can you describe the robber?.

Oh yes. He was a man. He was wearing a face mask and rubber-like gloves!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I may. I have nothing but praise, thanks and the most sincerest of respect for the medical services.
Yes without doubt many out-patient appointments were changed, due to the extremely high covid-19 emergencies. Naturally, as time went on, fears regarding attending GP surgeries and hospitals for check ups etc, for fear of contracting the virus.

Modern technology has certainly come to the fore. Doctors can now hold on-line or whatever mobile phone consultations, thus cutting down time and fears of going outside.

I had a text message from Guy's hospital. My follow-up consultation would be, via a mobile phone one. Day date time given. This was later changed to a normal hospital, face to face consultation set for September. Today.5.6.20 I had a phone call from Guy's. About another CT Scan. My last one was October 2019. Daughter Amanda considers this too risky for me. So I will have to change it. In all honesty. I believe that we, the public are between the devil and the deep blue sea.

We have reports of vast numbers dying. I notice the funeral services are keeping quiet. The medical scientist are advising us. HM Gov is, as it appears, drawing dates out of a ht for this and that. Now hundreds, thousands are throwing everything to the wind and basically say. Stuff the shutdown.
I am so grateful to my daughter, who is very vulnerable, but she is daily risking her all for her dad. What more can I say.
