And Silves is a lovely place to live. :blue thumb:
Hope to visit again one day, but at the moment we can't drive 50 miles on the M6 to visit our caravan.

Ah, I think I remember you were over here @HarryS. Nothing much changes here, a :snooze: peaceful haven. We are near Soa Bartolomeu de Messines. I hope you will be able to travel soon.

We have two national holidays this week ...

      • 10 June (Wednesday): Portugal National Day (Dia de Portugal)
      • 11 June (Thursday): Corpus Christi (Corpo de Deus)
All the Lisbonites will be headed this way so we will not venture far as Lisbon is where our big problem is ... they are causing 80% of our confirmed daily cases ... grrr! They had blocked all roads to Alentejo and Algarve but re-opened them. Alentejo has fewer cases and only one death.

      Take care and be safe.

These riots - a load of thugs bored with lockdown and with nothing better to do. Pick out the trouble makers and hit them with fines (or perhaps something a litte harder).

I dont think you can blame the lockdown,as such, these kind would join any demo going, and controversially, universities are all shutdown, I believe.
Not that I would blame any particular section of the community.

The government are tying themselves in knots, what about the 14 day quarantine for people coming into this country from countries with much lower rates of infection than we have.

There are so many exceptions that its a complete laughing stock.
Yet again we have system where if you are a doctor or nurse, lorry driver etc. etc. you are totally safe to come in and carry on as usual.
                    They are following the "science":roflol:
I think the "science" has been wrong from day one.

Air bridges, what are they? Sounds like another crazy idea.

And why now, if they had brought this in months ago when all those were coming back from skiing in Italy it might have made a difference.

What on earth are they up to.

I assume the quaranteen will apply to all those people they drag into Dover each day in the rubber boats.;)

And regarding the riots, the main man is missing again, where is Boris hiding this time?

Our Prime Minister comes out of his cottage once a day and makes a speech. Takes a few prescreened questions and then goes back inside. Reminds me of a cuckoo clock.

The other day his teleprompter went down for 21 seconds and he stood there the whole time without saying a word. Never saw him look so intelligent..

Had to go and pick up something from the pharmacy today and I certainly hope the other customers were picking up smart pills because they didn't understand what the big arrows on the floor meant

They've now cancelled all school openings until September :rolleyespink:.

We had been hoping to work with the village school to see whether we could lend them the village hall to use for classes as there isn't enough space in the school but couldn't work out how to make it safe. There has been no guidance from the authorities. We're still waiting for guidance on how we can get our small group hirers back in, as they're asking, but not a single response from authorities.

At some point they are going to have to admit that the 2mtr distance is not workable if they want to get things moving.
