About all the theories re covid-19? The reality is that this is a new virus, as in "novel" and no one has a clue about it. The really alarming feature is that it seems to have a spooky way of changing tack, altering effects so every time they think they have it pinned down it goes off in a different direction. Was there not one article that said they had found over 40 variations?

Best way is to treat it like an unexploded bomb, frankly

And yes, finiancial and economic considerations are in play now which is dangerous,

OH MY! Just seen an article re church leaders in the US who claim they have developed technology that kills the virus dead in seconds! I cannot post links here but it was on the MSN news!

You need to treat them with bleach.

Re Track and Trace:- does anyone know that if they contact you to say you may have been in contact with an infected person, do they tell you who that infected person is? Or does that come under Data Protection?

If they don't tell you, would you isolate?

As they have already admitted, unofficially, that the system isn't necessarily working properly would you be accepting their word without knowing the circumstances. Officially they have said it's being complied with 100% :th scifD36:. how do they know?

Maybe they would tell you the 'where and when' to allay your suspicions.

I don't think they could legally tell you who the infected person is - beside anything else, what of the risks of retribution? Most normal folks would realise that you don't choose to catch a virus or pass it on, but there are those in our society that I wouldn't allow to cross the road on their own......

If they tell you that you have been in contact with someone who has the virus and you don't isolate, then I would suggest you would be leaving yourself open to potential legal enforcement as your actions could be deemed likely to cause others harm.

If they haven't already done so, they are flipping to Google and Android data and indeed that is already installed on Android phones (not switched on yet), and there are rumblings that pubs, restaurants and hairdressers will need to keep a note of the details of everyone has visited. I've got to be honest, that is all getting a bit too Orwellian for me and I do not trust any of the respective governments in this country not to abuse that sort of information (or lose it/leave it wide open to hackers!) - - - for that reason, when I do get out and about, that app will NOT be activated on my phone, partly due to the process using Bluetooth permanently at well which in itself presents security concerns for your phone.

There is a hell of a lot that we are not being told about Covid-1984....

I was curious because I can't see how they would trace me - unless it was from a friend who would almost certainly tell me if they had it and I had been in contact recently.

As you know, I go one step further than you do with you not activating the app, as I don't have a mobile. :heehee:

I think it will be a long time before I sit in a restaurant, I don't go to pubs anyway and have just recently trained my wife to cut hair. :lunapic 130165696578242 5: With regard to gyms - what are they?

They can't expect some one to self isolate just on some stupid app telling you have been in contact with someone who has the virus, but not saying who when and where.
Add to that it means £90 a week ssp if you are lucky.
If you then turn out not to get it can you claim for lost wages.

Sounds to me like none of it has been thought through, and the longer this is going on, the less I think they have the slightest clue as to what they are doing.

Is anyone likely to want to go and sit in a pub bearing in mind the restrictions, I think some might just try it out for the novelty of being treated like a germ infested rabid animal, but I can't see it catching on for long.
The house parties will continue in my opinion and pubs will close.

I can see them being able to say, under GDPR, where and when but not who.

A lot of pubs out this way have gardens and they're already working on how to operate distancing. I know some people who have already said that they would go to the pub if they sit outside.

I wonder how we are going to cope with winter to be honest - normally if I have a cough, cold etc, I soldier on and go to work; not many colds lay me flat enough not to be able to work. How are you to know if someone with the sniffles has a cold or a dose of Covid-1984?
