Thank you for the info, i meant to have said he wears a mask when he goes into town but not at his home. I don't know where he got the information about his immune system but he's always very vulnerable to getting colds.

I find my medical mask is less obtrusive if I wear it under a bandana

Then it sounds imperative that he should wear a mask if anyone visits.

This is a grey area and depends, I think, on measures taken by the shop - for instance, most shops have Perspex panels between the customers and checkout staff. If you wear glasses, to have to wear the mask indoors all day could be extremely uncomfortable in the long run, so I think that because the panels etc are in use, and because staff are employing distancing methods within their own workspaces, masks are not required. Those among the aisles, stacking shelves etc, though, are increasingly wearing them, but not for their own protection - the masks, as far as I know, protect others from us, but not us from others.

That door behind you - it could do with a damn good coat of fresh paint ;).

Well, 3 new cases of Covid-19 not 2 miles away. The local hospital has requested that people stop visiting A&E as they are starting to struggle with the new Covid-19 cases.

Good job our Nightingale hospitals are still there and on stand by.

He should wear a mask so i don't catch it from him,but unless we have a surgical mask it won't protect us completely.

When I used to catch the bus in late 60s early 70s there was a sign up front, it said, spitting prohibited.

It obviously worked because I never saw anyone spitting on the top deck.
Always went up there for a smoke though

Just come back from Sainsbury's. Three staff outside the door handing out sanitised scanners and checking everyone was wearing a mask. All customers and staff wore masks.

Local shop - signs asking people to wear masks and if anyone comes to checkout without one they refuse to serve them (they're behind a thick perspex barrier). :heehee:

Just came back from my appointment for ordering new eye glasses. They had a tray for glasses that were tried on and I made sure to put the ones I didn't choose in that tray. Wore a mask and everything very civilized. The touchless hand sanitizer dispenser they had just inside the doorway and before entering the main store metered out enough liquid for me to sanitize my hands, my arms, and on and on. Literal puddle of it! Better than none though ;)

Took my granddaughter for a follow up appointment at the hospital. And the only thing about the place that bothered me was the uncivilized amount of money for parking!

If local government have the power to do a local lockdown, how will we know?

We've just opened up our village hall for, limited, activities. We have installed numerous hand sanitiser stations but not the automatic ones. After a lot of investigation we found that the automatic ones were prone to malfunctions so we have hand pumps. These are set in pump stations and fixed to the walls. During our investigations we found that people were pinching the pumps if they were free standing . There is no concern about touching the top of the pump and catching Covid from it because you are immediately afterwards cleaning your hands with the sanitiser. We've worked on the grounds of 'keep it simple'.

We've taken down all the curtains (a major possibility for transmission), closed both the ladies and men's toilets but kept open the disabled toilet. The disabled toilet is a one person toilet therefore obviating the possibility of people being unable to distance when moving around the toilets.

Most use of things is common sense.
