I was agreeing with you in this respect Pete and said I was not tarring everyone with the same brush. I just feel some folk have their priorities in the wrong place. We have what we have because we did prioritise, for years and years, and often went without some things we would have liked to have had or do. But everyone can't adhere to discipline.

Sorry absolutely not implying that everyone is like that and yes with hindsight could have picked my words more carefully.
If anyone can work from home then I do think they still should, like our three sons and to a certain degree my younger sister and niece. If you can't stop things completely then just try and limited how many times they have to be carried out.

It just makes my blood boil when we have day trippers from far away descend on our beaches down here with no regards to what else( apart from their rubbish!) they leave us with!

Then over excited people going berserk because Primark and McDonald's are open !!!
Save you pennies to buy essentials for your family if your finances are struggling!!

Everyone will suffer some degree of hardship....guaranteed (my big one will stay with me for the rest of my life) but to blatantly go about your own lives with disregard of the guidelines because you don't want to be inconvenienced by the restrictions that Covid puts on your own lifestyle knowing full well you could be endangering not only the wider public that cross your path....but also your very own nearest and dearest ....is absolutely too disrespectful for words imo.

Totally agree that what seems trival is also someone's source of income.... but that's still what I think, having your nails painted ( do it yourself) , having a Big Mac meal( cook your own, it will probably be healthier) going shopping because it's just a way for you and your family/ friends to pass the time of day and not out of necessity ( stay put and think up fun things to do at home together).

As @shiney said... ' when absolutely necessary ' :dbgrtmb:

Around here, following the ease of lock down, it seems the "majority" just ain't following the rules, I think I was the only one wearing a mask when shopping at the local store.
If people want to go out and kill themselves, fine, just not me or other law abiding citizens, selfish *******s.

Well I tend to agree but if we all stay banged up who pays the bills.

The government are trying to get things moving and what they are saying is go out and do things, but do them sensibly.

I think it comes across worse because now we are doing more testing, before we didn't know who did or did not have it ,it is very worrying but we'll beat this :paladin::thumbsup:

A couple of days ago, the BBC put this 6 question Covid quiz on their news website:

Quiz: Can you answer six basic questions on coronavirus?

My guess is that most GC members can give the answers that are being looked for to the questions. Pay special attention to the answers to questions one and four. Symptoms in some other countries are given as ough, fever, respiratory disorders, coryza, nasal congestion, sore throat, headache, nausea, muscle and joint pain. Not just the one shown as the correct answer. Of the three people in the UK that I know have contracted Covid (sadly, one passed away) the two that survived also had a rash. The Doctors even mentioned to them that it was a symptom.

The looked for answer to question 4 is a bit puzzling to me. At the beginning of July, the WHo made a statement saying that emerging evidence shows that Covid is an airborne virus. That being the case, sitting outsife hoping the breeze will stop someone catching it is nothing more than a fallacy. As is the wearing of masks! In light of this, the WHO is looking into the fact that social distancing space should be increased, not decreased. Thats because airborne virus can travel much further

Face coverings such as bandanas, scarves etc. are even wore than the recommended masks, usually ***N95. These are what are known as "vapour masks." 95 refers to the percentage of droplets (for lack of a better word) that are stopped by the mask. That still allows 5% to get through. Note though that this refers only to the size of droplets, not quantity. If the virus is airborne as the WHO states, the amount they will stop is exactly zero!

Like it or lump it, theres only one reson to wear a mask. Its to lull the wearer into a false sense of security. No wonder case numbers in the UK are rising!

MMMmmm, seem to remember someone in America saying that and everyone laughed.;)

Still wondering where they get this idea from Jenny, its the kind of thinking that never seems to make any sense.
                        Anyone heard an explanation?

One day. Out of the blue. The world was hit by a strange new virus. Covid-19. Sadly this has proved more fatal than perhaps other wide spread epidemics. Some in their time devastated the populas.

Now in the hi-tec world, science and technology has been brought to it's knees. At the moment we are all on tenter hooks, expecting, antisipating a second attack. Without doubt many of us may be asking. Will this killer virus ever go away? That is the big question.

In the meantime, due mainly to the pandemic, no end of changes are taking place in our daily lives. I'm sure we have each and everyone experienced the effects.

Perhaps communication has affected us. For instance. You all know me well enough on the matter of technology.

I have a mobile phone. To me, that is all that it is. I seldom use it. I can send text messages, thats useful. Now I am bombarded with text from my GP Practice. Log into blah blah etc for surgery updates. Register here for whatever. To be fair. I have tried it. Nothing works.

Daughter Amanda called in today. I mentioned that I'd got a text from the pharmacy, my script was being processed. I recently chuck out loads of medications, due to over-prescribing. I did once say hang on, I have enough. Next time. You will have to make an appointment to see the GP and get re-prescribed. Mentioning to Amanda that I need some DOVOBET for my psoriosis. She reckons I will have to ask the GP even though my script says I can order one more. Then comes the bombshell. Dad, you will have to set up an online account and do things through that. So this Covid-19 has driven even the medics under ground. Amanda said. Don't worry. I'll ring the surgery and say, you are an eighty year old and can't cope with all this computer stuff.

Hey folks. Don't get old. LOL
