This is a video where my best man (from 55 years ago) had written his own, Covid19, words to the Louis Armstrong song It's A Wonderful World. It expresses quite well what a lot of us oldies are going through whilst youngsters are going out and celebrating.

              Yeah, that's about all.

Cant help thinking it might be good if it could be contained to the younger population, let them do as they want, as we are told it doesn't affect them too badly in the main.

That way there could be a build up of immunity in the population.
Because without that we are just going to go round in circles for the next hundred years.

You know...it doesn't take much effort to be covid safe - social distancing; washing hands; wearing face masks - and we can't even do that. It looks to me that the youngsters stuffed into packed pubs have forgotten about covid 19.

I reckon that the furlough scheme is partly to blame as well - people being paid by the Gov't to stay at home - or not stay at home as appears to be the case.

Come the end of the furlough scheme in October - I wonder what impact that will have on people's behaviour?

Well come the end of the furlough scheme all those dodging work will have to go back.
So, I'm guessing cases will rise yet again.
Cant see how cases will not rise, it has to be expected.

If there was a disease out there that was about as bad as a common cold would you want to mess around with masks, not go out etc if you were 20 yrs old.:dunno:

Nobody amongst this very clever bunch of people who keep coming up with "the science" has yet explained why youngsters don't appear to be badly affected, in the main.

And until they sort that one out we are going nowhere fast.

I think our problems with Covid started because the lockdown was administered too late and not strict enough because planes from all over the world were still landing and passangers were not tested nor quarantined. Everything was badly organised. Then that 'superman' Cummings made the situation much worse. He wasn't even fined. More people started neglecting the rules because of him. The lockdown rules are rather confusing. You can go to a pub or a restaurant but you can't visit your friends. But you can meet in a hotel. And I am not speaking about nursery homes for old people. It's a great shame and tragedy.

They have just said on the news that someone probably died of covid back on the 30th of Jan.
Well before it was considered to be in this country.

I know people who have said they had a bad cough and felt bad for weeks back last Jan.

My daughter and I went to Sorrento for a week in October 2018. She started coughing there 2 days later and I started coughing 3 days later. She became better after 3 days, but I was getting worse and worse. When I came home the cough continued and I felt miserable for a month. My friend called my GP and insisted on the home visit. I was prescribed antibiotics which cured me at last. It could be that I had that awful virus then because I had Thrombosis after that in short time. Scientists say that Covid 19 affects the immune system and blood coagulation. Only after that it affects lungs.
Uzbek immunologists recommend the following home made 'vaccine' prepared from garlic water:
                      1. One peeled clove of garlic should be cut into 2 pieces and put into a glass of water in the morning.
                      2. The garlic water is ready to drink in the evening. Then you need to drink 2/3 of the glass of garlic water 3-4 hours after your last meal before going to bed.
                      3. Next morning you should prepare fresh garlic water.
                      4. You should take such garlic water for a month after which your immune system will be ready to resist Covid-19.

Again, the way they have done this has left a shed load of questions for those of us who are shielding. Poor show all round.

It is not as simple as that @pete - I am currently working from home because of the shielding advice, however no employer is going to allow that to continue indefinitely; so far, there is no issue with my employer to be fair to them, but the more that employers are chucking redundancy notices around like confetti the more worrying it gets.

The other problem is the way the shielding was paused, and in particular the 'if you can work from home, you should' line..... there are already some employers that are pulling the line that they say you can't, effectively because they can say that and they believe that is sufficient coverage for someone shielding, all the while the employee is doing stuff that they can do at home.

Finally, I have tickets for the air show at Duxford weekend after next - - is that not a gathering, outside, of more than 6 people? I have seen one race course cancelling tickets for next week in the news already this evening.

Add onto all of that the fact that Mrs C has noted a marked increase in people coming into her work today as they are starting to stock up on stuff on the basis that this was rumoured to be happening last night - - - are we heading back into a bog roll/flour/pasta crisis? If we are, I am filling my shed this weekend!
