Workwise FC I cant think that they can make someone in your position go back to work, especially since you have been working from home ok for months now.
I think you work for a responsible employer, not a one man band like some of us did?

But, if they say you need to go back, then you should, government rules are not going to change anything, it is what it is.

The Duxford thing is a shame, but I would have thought they would have cancelled that this year anyway, and not wanting to sound harsh, oh god no, but if you was going there, with millions of people you dont know, work should be a doddle.;)

Bad times ahead I'm thinking, this is going nowhere.:frown:

You couldn't make it up. In one breath CoCo and his cohort of fools tell us that we've been very naughty and so there will be new rules with greater powers of enforcement and fines, and if we know anyone who flaunts the new rules we should grass them up.
Then in the very next breath they admit that they will be introducing a bill before parliament that is illegal under intermational law!!!!!!

Oh, if work say I go back in then I absolutely will - it is the whole ambiguity of the thing @pete; it is less than six weeks since those of us shielders were released from 'Covid prison' and even then it was only a 'pausing' - - - the latest moves would suggest that fit folks are now in some sort of dire danger and inferring that the situation is really serious, but then on the other hand there is no change for those of us shielding? We can't visit my brother in law and family (he has five kids) yet I can quite happily pad around Tescos with a mask? I can't (potentially) go and sit on the edge of an airfield and watch planes flying past but I can go and work in a mixed office and share toilet and canteen facilities with bus drivers and engineers with nearly 500 people on site? What's the betting that future protests with the streets mobbed by tens of thousands will be OK though?

There is a couple of words for it mate, neither of which I can write here on a family friendly forum.

@Fat Controller , yeah I've been saying all along none of it makes sense, but government guidelines are rubbish and not based on anything other than sorting out the diabolical mess they have made of the economy.
But other countries have all done the same, and we reluctantly followed at first, now they are just running around in circles with no plan and no idea of what to do next.

I dont meet many people and I take very few precautions, I was back at work last week and trying to follow guidelines is just stupidity.
The gliding yesterday, just not possible to do if you follow the stupid rules.

My one thing I would hate is an over crowded commuter train, but they were just not "safe" before this lot started:biggrin:

OK. I have said in the past that this virus is new and very little is known or understood about it. This is some respects offering some kind of excuse for mistakes and blunders by the government, but the situation is becoming dafter by the minute. New rules are dreamed up and the country goes into panic. Then what reminds me of that TV series, Who wants to be a Millionaire? Chris Tarrant snatching back the cheque and saying. We don't want to give you that one.
The government are doing very much the same, with their ideas.

The younger generation obviously are getting some stick from us older ones. They should act more sensibly etc. TRUE but let's be fair. They like the rest of us, want to get on with their lives. Has, perhaps their outlook become that of the gladiators of the past. Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die.

Like several others on here. I have been through much in my lifetime. Due to this pandemic. I've been out just twice for hospital appointments since the end of January. I have another appointment next week and one in November. To be informed that you can now stop shielding........you must be joking. I like others are still victims of age and other medical problems, that lead to our shielding in the first place. I said jokingly just yesterday to daughter Amanda. I'll think about popping off in three years time. To mentally accept from the governments comments. I for one could throw everything to the wind, go out on the town and be a gonner in the next two weeks.

Agreed, no one knows the answers as yet, but for goodness sake Boris & Co. Stop R'sing around. At least try and act responsible for once.

At this week PMQs BJ was asked why the public should feel obliged to obey the law if the government itself does not do so. BJ replied that he expects everyone to obey the law -
even though he is planning to break it himself.
                      Isn't it crazy?

That will certainly help with social distancing. :hate-shocked: :heehee:

Garlic has been a traditional remedy for thousands of years in dozens of countries. How efficacious it is, I don't know.

On the website it says the September one is still scheduled to go ahead but I think they may have to close after yesterday's announcement. If they don't cancel I still have those chairs here :blue thumb:

:nonofinger: We are back in the naughty seat again! Sad since Algarve only has a handful of new cases per day and we have had 17 deaths since the beginning, two of whom were visitors. Fortunately Madeira and the Azores have been spared this time from this wishy washy system.
