Yes, that is precisely what it is. You might have missed my earlier posts where I made that very point. My Eurovision joke was just an attempt to lighten the mood. As I said in a previous post, I worked in hospitals for 3 years and we used to have all sorts of absurd larks on breaks. The work they do is extremely stressful and I'm amazed anyone would be narked in any way at such videos. All will have been shot during breaks and will not have impeded patient care in any way.
But I did think FC's description was pretty funny.

I feel that we owe it to the medical staff, to have a bit of a laugh etc. I remeber back in the 60's. Most A&E cases would go to UCH. University College Hospital. It was quite normal for nurses to have a little wager on some cases. I doubt if any money ever changed hands. Then there was always a bit of tom foolery. Using a stethescope like two tin cans and a bit of string.

It was getting that way, which is what grated on the nerves.

Not for one second saying that they should be doing that @JR, it was the sheer volume of them and the time that had clearly been taken to put a lot of effort into making them. For what it is worth, I think the 12 hour shift system is part of the problem generally for our NHS, because nobody can perform at their best when working stupidly long shifts like that, regardless of the job they are doing. In this country, professional drivers are limited in the hours that they can drive - but a nurse, injecting drugs that can be life saving to the right person, and lethal to another, is not time limited? Not right by an stretch.

No issue with folks having a bit of a lark on a break - nor indeed whilst on duty to be honest, providing it is a bit of a lark; I don't think an entire department's worth of staff making a fully choreographed video and practicing it, is in the same league.... moreover when there were numerous versions appearing.

You know, in my last job, I used to get quite a lot of customer complaints along the lines of.... "I had to wait in the freezing cold while the driver waited within sight and stood there smoking" or "the bus arrived into the bus station, and the driver got off! He went into the building, so he must have been going to sit and drink tea and I needed to get home" or similar. So it is OK for doctors and nurses to make carefully choreographed dance videos, but a bus driver must not go for a pee or have a cigarette whilst he has to wait until his scheduled (and therefore legal) departure time is due?

My area is always mad with boundaries.

We are on the border of four District Councils (part of our front garden is in a different council than the rest of it!) and a few hundred yards from the county boundary.

            Council 1:- Covid cases 57 per 100,000 - Tier 2
            Council 2:- Covid cases 85 Tier 2
            Council 3:- Covid cases 82 Tier 2
            Council 4:- Covid cases 100 Tier 1

We actually live in one county but our full address includes the road name of a town in the county we don't live in, the name of a village we don't live in (in the other county) and the name of the main town in the county we don't live in!!!!

Added to that, to get to our Parish church we have to go through another Parish and pass that parish's church on the way. :wallbanging:

            No wonder there's confusion.

Current Covid rate in our village:- nil, as of last week. :rolleyespink: That may be because nobody seem to have shown symptoms or been contacted by Test and Trace so nobody has been tested in the last three weeks. :noidea:

I cannot write too much here as a lot of it is highly confidential, but I am about to disappear down a huge rabbit hole work wise as we have to try and cope with the various considerations and requirements caused by the various restrictions - - in general, there will be a paring back of services in some areas (you don't need buses every 8 minutes if nobody is going out!) but whereas the last time around that was on a more defined level such as Saturday services all round or Sunday services all round, this time is going to be vastly more complex.

For example, I have two routes that originate in one borough (tier 2), pass through another (tier 2) and then split off and disappear out into Surrey. Surrey are going to be expecting a Monday to Friday service, the borough in the middle would be content with a Sunday service and the one at the other end a Saturday. That can't happen, nor would it ever - so, other factors are taken into account (passenger numbers, stations passed, schools served and so on) so I expect that we will have a Sunday service on one and a Saturday service on another. Now multiply that by over 150 routes and you see where the complexity is going to arise from. Then throw in schools now wanting a different finish time on a Wednesday and another on a Friday AND the need to run a further 40 services that interlock with the main services during the AM and PM peaks only.

Without doubt, I am back to 70hrs+ a week (contracted and paid for 35hrs, no overtime) at least until February I think, and all because of the confused soup this has become.

My parents place is also at the crossroads of a few different Disricts......gets a tad confusing at times!!

Their side of the road doesn't have streetlights as they are officially under a different borough....a line must be drawn some where!!:)

Hope you have a big field, I got over 900 of them to worry about!

Sadly, I doubt it is even noticed let alone appreciated. The current debate is around how we handle the 11 days annual leave I have outstanding for this year - not a hope I will be able to take them before the end of the year.

A couple of nurses here are doing something we think is good. They work at a nursing home up North and have tested positive along with some other personnel. They are asymptomatic. They have chosen to continue to work with those patients who are also positive rather than be short staffed..

                          Any thoughts?

So, they're both infected, one side not showing symptoms and the other are showing signs of being infected?......and yet they're being permitted to work in a Nursing Home? That goes against all medical advice:dunno:. Let's say you have a couple of Cleaners coming every day to help in the House, would you let them still work knowing one was asymptomatic and the other showing symptoms and that basically both had COVID 19:scratch:???
