Corona Virus Treatment

Just read this (quite fair point) elsewhere on the web:

Italy:
Population - 60m
Coronavirus cases - 15K
Deaths - 1K

UK:
Population: 66m
Coronavirus cases - 798
Deaths - 21

Italy had their first confirmed case 24hrs before the UK. The strategy is working.

 

Well, it is considered to be, pete, a Police State in all but name where it can issue draconian orders without the consent of the people.

I think China was using them before the Spanish were, pete!!

 

I take it you mean the Spanish Government, Upsydaisey?, as they seem to be taking any method to keep people off the streets........while the Spanish people are, and always have, decided to do their own thing

 

Isolating yourself doesn't mean locking yourself indoors. A better word, in my opinion, is distancing. Isolating should be used for someone who has the virus already.

With the current interpretation (for the over 70's) it means don't mix with groups of people, stay away from others if possible and take considered precautions. It doesn't mean you can't go for a walk or a drive and you can do essential shopping - if there's nobody to do it for you. For your own sake it would be best to do the shopping in off peak times. I tend to do that anyway as I go to a 24 hour store and go after midnight.

These theories about giving police powers to arrest you are a bit senseless. What are the police going to do with you? To actually arrest you they would need to touch you . That's worse than going out for a walk in an open place. Are they then going to throw you in jail or bring you into court, where loads of people are?

I haven't seen any of the stories about drones telling people to go home so don't really know what they're on about. Are the drones able to tell how old you are?

If they want us oldies to stay at home more then they shouldn't be taking our free TV licences away.

 

Or all the posh lot that went skiing, or to Italy for the half term holidays
