Well, they read out what would be closing and what would be staying open, there was no mention of local authorities getting involved

I'm talking about local politicians. Not sure what Charles or William have to do with it though - they're not politicians and they're not making decisions.

From what I can see there is more eagerness to keep things open from local authorities than central government. Local authorities are mostly trying to find loopholes. But that could just be my perception.

Actually, if you've listened to Boris he keeps reiterating that he didn't and doesn't want to carry out a full lockdown where everyone and his Cat stays at home, so he trying to strike an impossible balance of pleasing all of the people all of the time.
. The people who are, and have been, pushing for a full lockdown are the Scientists including the unofficial Sage Scientists and that is what has driven the Government to where we are now. The computer model forecasts are saying that the UK, never mind England, will see infections of a 100,000 a day and deaths of 1000 a day.

Does the virus recognise lockdowns and borders?

Yes, that is a point I myself have made many times on these pages. Boris is an instinctive civil libertarian and a reluctant lockdowner. However, the point I was making was that his government have, in fact, implemented a new lockdown of sorts, and it is being opposed to some degree by those in local government. The level of keenness I've seen to keep things open during November from them exceeds the level of keenness to keep things open during November shown by local government. Its a factual statement based on my own firsthand experience, but may, as I also stated, be inaccurate for that same reason. I personally have no opinion on whether there should be a lockdown as I don't feel scientifically qualified to say if it will work, nor whether it will cause more problems than it solves.

Nope, it doesn't even believe in Politicians but it does like those ignore the basic rules of washing your hands, wearing a mask, and keeping the prescribed social distance.:dunno:

I think any figures stating new cases should be considered dodgy in the extreme.

Purely because the more people you test the more positive results you will get.

I foresee a massive rise in cases in Liverpool in t he coming weeks, purely because they are supposedly going to bring in MASS testing in the area.

They made a statement on the morning news programme that it is estimated that around two thirds of the population are likely to be asymptomatic.

                      Mr Trump thinks that too:dunno:

But wouldn't you say the more you test the more accurate is the figures of infected people so really you're getting a truer picture of the situation.?
