Here's the postcode search, the site also has a pretty good interactive map. Official UK Coronavirus Dashboard

It's a bit grim around here

In percentage terms, it is still very small - I would be interested to see the incidence of flu in my area as well.

That's not for an individual postcode, but an average for the whole of North Tyneside, which can be verified by inputting some other postcodes from that area and they will all yield th same results (or did when I checked my surrounding villages and got exactly the same results for where I llive).

Oh dear, is that near to that university where most of the students tested positive?

        Agreed

When I put in our postcode the map it brought up covers about 70sq miles. Our rate for positive tests in seven day period is shown as 12 and in the whole of the local authority district there has been one death (640sq km and 90,000 population).

I checked my office postcode some 3 miles away, it's a bit different:

Yes, the one my Teenager attends. Apparently over 500 students have been fined for braking the rules and face consequences also to their studies. But, I must say that the teaching is going very well online and the kids are incredibly resilient and keeping up the good spirits. Plenty of giggles can be heard at odd hours in this house :blue thumb:

Different district within North Tyneside Local Authority area? (Within which all postcodes will be added together)

As predicted - the shopping centre close to the English border is heaving today. We're keeping well away.

I was listening to a discussion on who should be prioritised when eventually giving the coronavirus vaccination. Most of them are saying it should be the over 80's, NHS, care home residents and workers and other vulnerable people - but they can't work out in which order they should be done.

I've had an idea of a different possibility. As there has not yet been any peer reviews or any further tests (which should really happen before the roll-out) how about the young and healthy having it first so that by the time it gets round to the vulnerable there would have been millions of vaccinations? :ideaIPB: Then they could subsequently be tested to see whether they contract the virus and to see whether there are any side effects.

I think the young will object and strongly resist being made " guinea pigs" and enforcing them would creative a huge problem in itself.

In some ways I agree the young might be the better targets, but not as guinea pigs, more because they are probably the ones most likely to spread it.
Also the bame communities , can I say that?

But isn't that the same for the vulnerable in the way they're suggesting at the moment?

You can say it (you did :heehee:) but the suggestion by a lot of the bame is that it may cause even greater racial division.

Oh well, lets just not bother then, if nobody wants it.

I thought the whole world has been waiting for a vaccine and now on one wants to try it.

                      I'll give it a go.

I'm pretty certain that the vaccine won't be rolled out until the MHRA (Medicines and Healthcare Regulatory Agency) say it's safe but I also expect them to do it before it becomes fully licenced. I hope peer group examination will also be done. The latter can be speeded up with no problem by a special speedy issue of the paperwork being sent out to peer review groups.
