Here's another online covid-19 cases checker. Coronavirus in your area - NHS Digital

    I got the same results for within a 1mile radius as for 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 miles.

It doesn't work. (It's not a case of every case within 10 miles all being in my village, as there's a town with additional known cases within that distance).

Agreed. It said there were more than three cases within a mile (as it did for higher distances). I know everyone within a mile (only 15 houses) and none of them have it, as far as I - and the postman :heehee: - know.

New neighbours moved in next door yesterday and they seem very fit and healthy. I welcomed them - from a distance - and we knew each other :rolleyespink:.

        Just watching the news.
I wish the presenters would stop keep asking expert and ministers what things will be like at Christmas.

When they don't give a direct answer, and lets face it how can they, they then set about trying to put words into their mouths.

The News and all media just ask the same questions over and over, at least this is keeping the Lady Di conspiracy theories off the front pages.

Why don't they just look out their windows at home or go for a short walk, see what's happening and have a guess themselves?

Our neighbours continue to have friends and family vistors. In the next street a household had visitors come to stay for a few days. Schoolkids all put their masks on to get on and off their buses, but take them off once past the driver. The ones using public transport are rubbing shoulders at the bus stops, together with members of the public. Most people meeting friends out in public are ignoring any form of distancing. Etc., etc.

The only thing you can do is really look after yourselves. It really is as simple as don't mingle , difficult for some jobs and very difficult emotionally for some people. MrsH is always complaining about households not adhering to the law, although in my area it is not to bad to my knowledge, I remind her we are not the covid police.
One of my bowling friends died of covid over the weekend, and he had no idea how he caught it. If only the covid idiots would catch it, but it seems to be very random.

That keeps you safer, but if others continue to spread it around, everybody will have the their freedoms restricted.

There's a seperate thread for that Who remembers Mingles??

Right at this very moment in time, my neighbour has 2 cars outside her house ( I can even hear her and her visitors laughing from inside her front room ) and occasionally she pops outside to engage in chatting to the guy she's hired to tidy up her front patio.
Her husband is in the Police.. how law abiding is that!!!

I've seen police in uniform driving a marked car, calling in to visit their mates during the last lockdown.

Our close friend's daughter( works in a Primary school) has come down with Covid...- husband's now got it too. Close friend contacted by T&T and told to isolate 14 days . He was out fishing last Friday when daughter popped in for a chat and a cuppa with his wife (family bubble) this was before having tested positive. So the bubbles' total group in quaratine now.
And they , as good grandparents collect the grand daughter from Primary school normally.
So, all in a right pickle now..:noidea:...
Thank goodness they have a garden, he's been out mowing the lawn ...he will find this "Caging" very taxing on his freedom.
                      Isn't it all a booger...:wallbanging:

Well, I am ruddy fuming! Mrs C messaged me during the day yesterday to say that two people that work in her store (albeit on different shifts/days to her) are currently off sick with Covid and she only found this out by 'canteen gossip' - it has been confirmed by the store manager who stated that she did not have to tell other staff about it! Errr... according to the government guidance, she should have!

I have asked Mrs C to ask for a copy of the risk assessment that is in place for this situation, and particularly relating to staff who are (or live with) those who are clinically vulnerable. Knowing how they operate, you can bet a pound to a pile of poo that they won't have one.

This highlights just how stupid this situation is - here I am taking all the precautions under the sun, effectively being a prisoner in my own home and yet at the same time not only potentially seeing Covid brought home, but I am the one chauffer driving it home.
