I think Boots are owned now by USA and they aren't too worried about anyone other than themselves.
Thinking of you and Mrs C....

"New data collated using the NHS Test and Trace app has found supermarkets to be the most frequent common exposure setting for catching the COVID-19 virus in England. Experts retraced the steps of 128,808 people using the app whohad tested positive for the virus between November 9 and 15 to find out where transmission is most likely to happen.

There were around 9,789 common locations reported in total. The findings were as follows: N.B. Data from November 9 and 15, so after pubs, restaurants, etc. were closed, which is why they are such low percentages.

      • Supermarket - 18.3 percent
      • Secondary school - 12.7 percent
      • Primary school - 10.1 percent
      • Hospital - 3.6 percent
      • Care home - 2.8 percent
      • College - 2.4 percent
      • Warehouse - 2.2 percent
      • Nursery preschool - 1.8 percent
      • Pub or bar - 1.6 percent
      • Hospitality - 1.5 percent
      • University - 1.4 percent
      • Manufacture engineering - 1.4 percent
      • Household fewer than five - 1.2 percent
      • General practice - 1.1 percent
      • Gym - 1.1 percent
      • Restaurant or cafe - 1.0 percent"

So avoid supermarkets when they're full of secondary school students?

@Scrungee , interesting figures there. Especially the pub at 1.6% and restaurant at 1.0%. Both safer than a Nursery.:)

That's because pubs and restuarants were shut down 2 weeks ago, but pre-school nurseries remain open.

But the Test and Trace app is about as reliable as a politician, so all of those percentages are meaningless really. It was even on the news today that they are having a 'reset' at Christmas to try and regain public trust!

PS - what about the other thirty odd percent?

I had added them up and wondered about that, but thought it would have to consist of at least 31+ activities of < 1%, perhaps gardening, bird watching, dog walking, angling, kayaking, wind surfing, train spotting, model aircraft/drone flying, star gazing, fossil hunting, stone balancing, etc., etc.

Which means they are leaving open the most likely places for infection and closing the less.
The more I see of this the more I think its crazy.

The worst place is Supermarkets, can't see it would be very popular to close those.

What's missing is a similar exercise pre-lockdown 2 for comparison, with rates for pubs, restuarants, etc. before they were shut.

And lots of people seem to have forgotten this Pubs could have to close to keep schools open in local lockdowns, No 10 says

What I've noticed is that as soon as non-essential shops closed, families streamed out of towns into the countryside. Is leisure shopping their normal exercise?

                    ------------------------------------------

A nearby secondary school that has had all classes in seperate bubbles, with years in seperate buildings, and all their students wearing masks and social distancing has had to almost close despite no cases smongst the pupils.

The reason? One of the teachers tested positive, and despite separating the pupils, most of the teachers had continuing to cram into the staff room together so have been sent home to isolate, leaving nobody to take classes.

Only according to those dodgy figures though. Oddly enough, supermarket staff are not dropping like flies with Covid (you can bet your bottom dollar that the likes of Beff Rigby or Piers Moron would be shouting it from the treetops if they were) which sort of lays waste to the figures?
