I'm sure that it's not just Pensioners who are suffering from the stress from this Pandemic and paying the price. We have all reacted differently due to the stresses of Lock Downs, fear of catching the virus or their family and friends catching it.
I have Pensioner friends in Liverpool and Manchester who has basically been locked down since the beginning of the Pandemic despite the difference in Tiers but most they have tried to get on with their Life although I suspect it's the Single Pensioners that are the most vulnerable to stress and depression.

        A huge logistic excercise.....
Can we not make use of the collective Armed Forces personnel to speed things up?

I think you should have clarified whether you meant the virus or the vaccine.

You need qualified people to handle and give safe injections and there is just not enough in the Services to make a real difference although, I'm, sure that some qualified personnel will volunteer.
They were able to help conducting the Covid 19 tests as that was just basic supervision and storing, They might be able to help with local distribution from the Hubs but only if they have the vehicles able to maintain the low temperature storage. It's going to be a huge ongoing problem to keep the vaccine stable from Manufacturer to Patient.:dunno:

I think in absolute fairness to them the limit is not so much on the administering of the doses, although that does play a part, but more to do with the production/availability/storage

I can only wish @Freddy - sadly, my day has been pretty awful and I have quite literally had the rug ripped out from underneath me. Currently trying to work out my next move, and trying really hard not to make it the 'go and hide in the dark'.

To coin a phrase quoted by an esteemed member... “Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it.” Not always easy, I should know, but it’s a good philosophy.

Recently my sister needed injections into her stomach after a fall, when a district nurse was not available she was told to do it herself, which she did after much debate.

Are you telling me that giving someone an injection is really that complicated and difficult that an army medic is not capable of doing it.

Or my dustman could not be trained to do it in about 24hrs.

Lets hope the Zenica jab gets approval and comes out fast as this first one has some shortcomings that make it a no go in some places.
