Absolutely, and export - if the news can be believed there was a lot of fish (particularly Scottish) stuck on this side heading out.

Well, yes....for as long as I can remember, Tesco stocked stuff from all over the world, all year round. Consumer demand. Better get used to the brave new world (GB sovereignty-style) of less choice

So all-in-all, it's a good job that we won't be having the usual fish-fest of a fin de l'année. Max 6 people around a table.

Well I know we do import a lot, and even more thanks to the EU running the show.
But I think the main point is, the EU aint the only place that grows lettuce or oranges.
          Or even HP sauce.

There are countries outside the EU to be fair, and at worst we will still be able to trade with EU countries albeit paying tariffs based on WTO rules. Funny how it is only Dover that is seeing the problem too....... not that there is any political reason that Mr Macron would have done what he did.

As far as I know Dover is the busiest port in the country regarding lorry traffic, Newhaven has had some problems but they are tiny in comparison.
Container traffic with no drivers is unaffected.

There's some UK and EU Hauliers with perishable cargo using Felixstowe, Liverpool and Anglesey to get their goods into Europe via Denmark.:dunno:

That was part of the problem here though - stopping people was fully understandable, but to stop freight was clearly a political decision, although it will be roundly denied. Matt Hancock did not help one bit in fairness with his 'virus out of control' comment, but this was used as an excuse by Macron and I suspect that the reason the tune changed again so rapidly is that he made the decision of his own back and then got handed his backside by Merkel and Barnier on Monday morning.

We should take this as a very rapid lesson - be much, much more self-sufficient and stop dealing with EU countries. I'm sure that they won't mind losing that small £100bn worth of trade and clearly they don't want any access to our waters for fishing.

Liverpool and Anglesey are not a quick route to Denmark.

In case there was any doubt that it was political in nature, the modern day Adolf himself posted this earlier today:

Lovely man he is - - not.

Maybe its the tier 4 that is the problem?
