I'm sorry but between 300000 and 600000 people die a year from the various strains of the flu. Covid19 has taken roundabout 6500 out of a total of (ballpark) 210000 cases worldwide. Whilst the mortality rate for covid is certainly higher it is only on a par with dengue fever but far less infectious! Yes it can be bad but it is not the end of civilisation as we know it.
There is a threat to civilisation - I can't buy any Yorkshire Tea!

Which kind of makes me wonder if there is more to this than we are being told?
Not really into all the conspiratory stuff that flies around these days, but .................;)

Maybe they know there is a very good chance of an absolute killer virus that is bound to happen at some stage and this is a way of testing out how good they are at containing such things.
I'm sure at the end of it all lots of lessons will have been learned.

This is the problem @jimcubs ...children may not have such problematic side effects but they are usually great germ/ virus carriers sadly.

I have worked in childcare for almost 30 yrs and have many a time been on the receiving end of some horrid ailments kindly shared with me!!!

Not just kids @Scrungee ...Our local residents website reported last week about how a couple of males were going around Home Bargins coughing all over the shelves ,this obviously made people stand back...allowing them to clear the shelves!!!

Worryingly these males were said to be in there 30s.....so if these kids had similar role most in their lives.......:dunno:

@jimcubs your wife could take the precaution of checking her blood regularly. One of the effects on those with Type 2 is to bring on a hyper. So if her levels go up suddenly she should phone 111. I'm assuming she does check her blood.

It is my understanding that the virus dies in hot temperaures so washing in hot water is pretty effective for laundry. Easy peasy. Or I could be wrong?

Well, it seems to be surviving and spreading easily in hot climates, Lori, but with plenty of soap used it should die off.:dunno::coffee:

Well I think the " Summer will ease Coronavirus " ideas have probably been put to bed now.

Australia, currently having temperatures of around 30 degrees has been the latest country to submit to the virus. Over 500 cases have been reported in the last few days.

Now like over here people are causing chaos in shops and Cinemas, theatres etc are closing.

I was thinking temperatures around the 130f mark or more. Pretty much scalding. Anywho, doesn't matter. I'm not planning on rubbing my clothing on anyone and I find this sneezing in the elbow better than letting it loose but prefer having a tissue up my sleeve at all times and ready to use.

I self isolated for most of the day. Spent time shifting things about in the cellar. :)
