I'm no Professor Whitty - but logic tells me that if I am infected and my immune system kills the virus - then there is no live virus to pass on. I suppose between infection and killing the virus - there is a limited opportunity to pass it on.

This one shot first approach makes even more sense when looking at timescales.

Maybe, if you don't check it each time, it won't be delayed further. :ideaIPB: :roflol:

That's like saying if you never go to your GP, there'll never be anything wrong with you.

The timescales have been increased, for some it's over 6 months delay in getting vaccinated.

The Oxford vaccine is only 70% effective after one dose, so almost one third wont be protected.

Will you feel safe with only a 70% chance of immunity if the remainder of the un-vaccinated UK population are released from restrictions by Easter/May (as the Government have been suggesting), and the virus is allowed to rip through them?

And a huge proportion of the vulnerable 65+ population will not be immune by then.

I now believe this Government has lost the plot.

The brainiacs tell us that - 70% of the people who are jabbed will be protected - while the other 30% will only develop mild, non life threatening symptoms. That's why were doing it - lives will be saved. It always has been a fight aqainst time and - I'm sorry to say - the stupidity of those who ignore the rules.

I've no idea why GP's have started complaining.

Very pleased to see that India have also approved the Oxford vaccine.

No, that's a misunderstanding of the stats, (such as they are), one third won't be unprotected, they will have a less than 70% efficacy from the vaccine, not a complete 70% protection. None of the stats being quoted are exact and are only a guide as we still don't know enough about Covid 19, the any of the vaccines or how each individual body will respond to them.

            Including yours?

One thing that is clear, is that the Governent are hiding vaccination rate failures amongst other stuff like delaying second doses.

Exactly, Scrungee, I just dislike the use of Stats which, you know as well as I, can, (and are) being taken in any direction or interpretation to convince people that this or that is true, I'd rather keep an open mind and confess ignorance.:dunno:

If I've been in all day, do I have to keep washing my hands?
            What the hell for?
And, I do not pay humongous squillions of ££££ to EDF energy to keep me warm then keep windows open and let in " fresh air"?
            What the hell for?

I wonder if the delay is the Vaccine or trained staff.
I was trained to give Diabetic injections in an hour or so at the Nursing Home.
Give me the Vaccine and I will give this out, me first of course.

My area has got one death but other areas close have up to 11 deaths, but none more than 6 anywhere close.
So bearing in mind no body dies of anything else these days I feel fairly safe.

Well I was looking at someone getting the jab on TV a while ago, now I know it was filmed, but having had a flu jab I can see where the hold up is.
