I know exactly what you mean, but sadly we can't forget about. That is why a bit of light hearted banter on here is so uplifting.

Good News for dog walkers! (Suggest keeping a screenshot/link on your phone in case challenged.

Coronavirus (COVID-19): advice for people in England with animals

                "Dog walking
In all tiers, you may leave your house to walk your dog, but you must follow the social contact rules in your tier.

You should stay 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household or support bubble, or one metre with risk mitigation, such as wearing a face covering, where 2 metres is not viable.

When walking your dog in areas used by other people, you should consider putting your dog on a lead to ensure you can stay 2 metres away from others.

You should wash your hands before and after handling your dog."

N.B. Dog walking is "animal welfare" and doesn't count as your once a day "exercise'. This also means those who use mobility scooters for dog walking can continue to walk their dogs.

EDIT: Boris is supposed to have confirmed in an interview that if you have a dog that needs more than one walk/day (Spinger Spaniel was given as example) then that's OK.

We have neighbours with 2 dogs, 3 horses and Hens on their paddock. Therefore they can go for a few dog walks, visit their Hens every morning and late afternoon, feed/muck out their horses and take each of them out for exercise. Plus take their own exercise, essential food shopping, feed shopping, etc.

Guess how many trips a day that is?

Whole of UK in lock down, and this happens and at night in the pitch black with driving snow. How many times do people have to be told to stay at home?

One person's stupidity by ignoring rules and closed roads has now led to police officers stuck in treacherous conditions. We now have to call out a local volunteer rescue group with 4 x 4 to assist. This is so frustrating and unnecessary and risking everyone

The driver was taken to the local taxi rank and had to make his own way home to Ellesmere Port. I would have at least given him free 'accommodation' in the Police cells for the night. Mind you, to be fair, it would have been easy to social distance when you are half way up a mountain, at night in the Winter.

The Moderna Vaccine has just been approved for use in the UK but because of supply problems it won't be fully in use until the Spring. It's also the most expensive vaccine at £28 per jab.

Absolutely outrageous waste of valuable emergency services time, when they could be out arresting 'picnicners'.

Derbyshire Police [1] are at it again Covid: Women on exercise trip 'surrounded by police'

                                Screenshot_20210108-133058.png

[1] During the first lockdown, the force was criticised for releasing drone footage of people walking in the Peak District.

Speaking at the time, Lord Sumption - a former Supreme Court judge - said it was "disgraceful" and "shamed our policing traditions".
