        Traffic cop to Pete.

Your driving seems to be a bit here and there. Have you been drinking?

        No officer.

I require you to give a breath sample. Please blow into this tube.

Thank you. Oh dear. You are over the legal limit.

You've just had the jab. Come come matey. I've heard some stories. A tiny prick, has put you over the limit. Oh! this is one for the canteen. Go on mate. Drive safe. Intoxicated by a prick (jab). Never.:nonofinger:

I can tell you @Mike Allen and all of course...One Boxing Day very early morning as in 4.30 am travelling up to Newcastle from Wallington Surrey...I was aware that I was going too fast on the motorway, that was deserted, almost...I just had driven past an on junction and saw a police car..not panic , but knew I was going too fast so tried to slow a tad but made a bit of a jerk with the steering wheel...They flagged me down and told me to get out of my vehicle and get in the back, Mr. W. was asleep.:snooze:.now fully awake..:th scifD36:..I had one police officer either side of me asking simple questions and then out came the inevitable Breathalyzer....I actually felt myself trying to not breathe in to it..I was soon encouraged otherwise and I was in the clear.and just ticked off about my speeding... .so off we went on our journey....We are not heavy drinkers at Christmas
so I should not have worried, but being stopped for the very 1st time by the Police, I felt guilty of anything...:yikes:..We have a strict policy, we have followed ever since..nil alcohol or no driving...:dbgrtmb:

Another example of why we are better out.

What did we have first - you shouldn't delay the first and second jab by 12 weeks? Well, it turns out to offer more protection at 12 weeks.

And now - the AstraZeneca vaccine is not as good for over 65's. Well, it turns out that it does in fact generate the same level of anti-bodies in the over 65 age group.

Macaroni shouldn't have said what he said. Delaying the jab will inevitably cost lives. He's so bitter and twisted about Brexit - he'll have a pop at the UK regardless of the consequences.

Healthcare chiefs have struggled to roll out the AstraZeneca vaccine, which has been publicly criticised by French President Emmanuel Macron, in a number of member states.

Italian doctors, led by Paolo Mezzana, have called for AstraZeneca vaccine to be dropped.

Reports of citizens shunning the Oxford jab have emerged from Italy, Germany, France and Belgium, as well as others.

It has been said around 200,000 of the 1.5 million AstraZeneca vaccines available in Germany have been utilised because of the public opting to reject the shot.

Unfortunately they misinterpreted the initial information (understandably to a certain extent) but are not willing to say so now that they have found out differently. It's the general population that is suffering because of it. :dunno:

The French health minister tried to counter the scepticism by having the AZ jab himself and saying it was just as good as the others - but it doesn't seem to have made any difference.

Not sure if we are getting a slightly slewed side of this from our media but they did show an empty vaccination centre, I think it said Brussels, and they had vaccinated only 200 people but have the capability of doing 5000 a day.

Maybe the spare Astra Zeneca vaccine that the EU have should be packed up and sent to Africa, I'm sure they will find a use for it.

I saw that on the TV this morning. The centre manager said that they had run out of vaccine - and that was why the place was empty. Probably run out of the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

I see that Ghana is the first country to benefit from the Covax initiative and that they have received the AZ jab which has been manufactured in India. It looking more and more like the EU are fumbling around when other places are moving forward.

Yes, made in India, and shipped to Ghana.
Obviously they didn't need it in India????????

On the one I saw there was no mention of running out of vaccine.

Going to where needed most. Boris had better send excess UK vaccine to where it is needed - or he will be receiving a stiff letter.

After the EU becoming threatening after failing to obtain sufficient Astrazeneca vaccine, then being so successfull at rubbishing the vaccine they were so desperate for, that their populations are refusing it, I forsee that they will now try and renege on the contract they were previously desperate to enforce, until perhaps there's a new variant that's resistant to Pfizer, Moderna, etc., but against which Astraveneca is effective, then they'll suddenly be back to being demanding and threatening again.

South Africa are not using their stock of AZ vaccine. Apparently it has poor results against the South African covid variant, which is the prime infection there.
I would presume that AZ are working on a new Mk2 vaccine for the Autumn which will be matched against the 3 new strains.
Possibly in a couple of years they will have a one shot Covid+Flu vaccine. I firmly believe that we will need an annual jab for these.
