      Yep...no eyebrows going up here...

History will judge mankind's management of this crisis . The EU's irrational decision to withold vital medication and allow more people to become infected and die will be remembered.

As far as this country is concerned, I doubt we will find out the real truth for 30 yrs.

Valneva will have to get a move on if they want to do larger trials in the UK...

The Valneva injection is currently being tested on 150 volunteers in Birmingham, Bristol, Newcastle and Southampton. If these trials are successful, larger tests will be planned for April 2021, with more than 4,000 UK volunteers taking two doses from all age groups over 18.

I wonder why they are testing the French Valneva vaccine in England? It's being manufactured here in Scotland. Or has France got an ulterior motive with this too?

Valneva - Macaroni dropped a massive clanger. It's a French vaccine start up that was looking for government funding. No guarantees at the time, the vaccine hadn't even been made. France refused to fund - Boris took a risk and threw in a load of dosh. Same approach from the UK as for the AZ vaccine - throwing cash at it and taking a punt as to whether it will work. The Valneva vaccine is the only one where you are injected with a dead Covid-19 virus - so it's highly likely it's going to work. In return for UK funding, Valneva will be sending the first output to Boris. Macaroon is not impressed especially as he had the chance to fund and Valneva is a French company - with the elections coming up - he's looking wobbly. France did try to develop their own vaccine but it didn't work.

It looks like Moderna are charging over the crest of the hill to take up the temporary AZ slack in April. Here is Wales, we'll be getting jabbed with Moderna in April.

Some MEP's are also critical of the decisions around delaying AZ roll out in Europe. Their credibility is taking a bit of a dive.

Just read a cheering report that WHO statistics show that Portugal had achieved the greatest decrease in new cases in Europe over a four week period, namely – 80.5% whereas for Europe as a whole there was an increase of 21.5%. The decrease was sustained over the last week, with Portugal decreasing 22.7% compared with European of +6%.

At present the Rt on the mainland is 0.79 and incidence of 80 per 100,000 compared to the government threshold of Rt 1 and 120 per 100,000 respectively.

This weekend we are in "lockdown" till 5am tomorrow and we will be again over Easter 26 March through 5 April.

I think that is incredible from being the worst in January. All seems calm here.

I'm getting a bit worried about the second jab, I want the same stuff I had first time round.
If they start mixing it I think you can count me out.
