    Interesting news nodule....

The UK could reach herd immunity by Monday, modelling by University College London forecasted in contrast with government scientific advisers’ warning of a surge in hospitalisations over the summer.

The UCL research estimates that almost three-quarters of people (73.4 per cent) will have immunity from the virus through vaccination or previous infection on 12 April.

Why do they keep using the word 'immunity'? It's incorrect! There's a very high chance of either not contracting it or not having a bad reaction but you are not immune.

All media nowadays seem to use the wrong wording in all different topics just to sensationalise the 'news'.

Matt Hankerchief has dismissed the UCL modelling.

How strange that all the shops are opening and the kids are going back to school on the 12th - cor what a coincidence...

          Regarding a surge in cases.
It doesn't matter how many cases we get, its about stopping hospitalisations.
Or at least that was the initial aim.

But as usual the goal posts have moved and now the emphasis is more about "long covid", and mutations.

NHS are still piling pressure onto the virus. Boris had better offer more than 1%:

The UK has reported the largest number of second coronavirus vaccine doses given in a single day.

A total of 450,136 second doses were received on Friday - with 106,878 first doses also administered.

Our village surgery were only giving second doses today and had 400 booked in. The queue was quite long and rather cold in the wind. I had guessed it would be and put on extra layers. :blue thumb:

I had the pfizer jag no syptoms, I reckon it was water with floride. When frozen to minus 70c I reckon anything in it would have frozen to death anyway

Just read between the lines given out, March 2020 a lockdown for a few weeks
So why did you not need to have your car MOT until September
Why was your mortgage interest suspended until September ?

A short summer holiday JULY when all the plague went beserk then lockdown until
Xmas for a day out with family, Then lockdown until now well in another month, to
take your summer holiday, Ready for another lockdown until Xmas 2021

Take your Vac it will not stop you getting covid, it will not stop you passing it on
But it will prevent you dying quickly just instead of within a month it will be long covid
and you can die a year later

I think we should all go out and party until the end

Mrs Shiney was on that survey , earlier than you, and was told (by the University) she had tested positive :rolleyespink:. For the two weeks prior to the test neither of us had left the house or met with anyone! So we reckoned it was a false positive. :thud:

She received that notification, by email, four days after the test - the test was collected by someone. As she hadn't received any notification immediately we had met with three people in the meantime - suitably distanced.

Five days after that she received an email from the county NHS asking her/us whether we needed any help (shopping or collection of prescriptions etc.) as we were isolating. I emailed back thanking them and saying we hadn't received an email from Track and Trace. Their answer was 'Track and Trace don't use emails and they should have contacted us through the App or by text'! I pointed out that it would be difficult to do that as we don't have a mobile phone :noidea: :heehee:.

Seventeen days later we received a letter telling us to isolate!!!!!! :doh:A month after having had the test. :wallbanging: As we were on the university trial they had access to our address, two emails and two landlines. I think that was when they didn't know what they were doing despite having had so much money thrown at them.

I would have thought they should have at least followed up as her test was supposedly positive.

I dont understand why they wanted you to isolate for a positive on an antibody test, surely that indicates mrs shiney had had covid and at the time of the test she had antibodies? or am i really being thick :thud:... i do think they should take blood tests before our 2nd jab and maybe a few week on after that as much as they can, surely it would be ground breaking helpful data for the future..we still no idea if we will be rid of this disease in yrs too come :dunno:xx

Its said that to err is human,.. though where the Covid Tests and notifications are concerned one would think more care would be taken,..my next door neighbours friend and daughter went for testing,..not locally but two small towns away,..they were in a queue for so long they gave up and went home,..they were notified that the tests were positive and to urgently make contact also to isolate,..go figure :dunno:
