Corona Virus Treatment

Well, I'm coming around to thinking that we can't stay in perpetual fear of Covid. It's here to stay and just like the Flu it will mutate each year - the battle against it will never end.

It's drawing near to the time when we have to rely upon the shield of a vaccine and herd immunity - put on a brave face and step out into the sunshine again.

 

Thats what I've been trying to do that all the time.

 

We were due to fly to Thailand in July 2020. Emirates contacted me with my options and I went with an open flight ticket which is valid to July 2022. I got a refund for my internal flights to Vietnam and some of the hotels as I only book a few nights in case we change our plans. Was really looking forward to our 1 night stay at Anantara Elephant Sanctuary . Hopefully we will be there July/August 2022.

 

No doubt there will be a lot of bright red Brits here this week with our temps 29-30c this week.

Personally I think you have to be mad to go there under those conditions, I really cant see the point, much as I like the sun.

They are saying its £500 a go, for just the flight, once you have paid for testing etc.

 

I think we need to know if its mostly unvaccinated people and how ill they are getting with it.
The amount of cases is only half the story and possibly misleading.

 

Besides that, our beaches all have Blue Flags and a Traffic Light System where, depending on the size of the beach depends on the numbers allowed (can't find the article).

How are you all being informed about when to go for your jabs??

Our surgery keeps changing methods without letting anyone know!!

Hubs has had both jabs now and each time he not only received a letter but he also got phone calls too.

I never got anything and in the end when discovering that the age group below me were now getting theirs I phoned up and learnt that I had been forgotten!!

As I am now due my 2nd one I have been constantly looking out for mail , carrying the landline with me out in the garden/ greenhouse, checking my mobile phone for missed calls or texts. Nothing!!

Tonight I logged on to my Patient Access Account ( haven't done so for a couple of years as there has been no reason to do so). I was just checking it out to help me decide whether or not to set one up for my brother ( decided he would find it too confusing). I discovered on there that I have in fact missed my 2nd jab!! Someone had booked me in to have it last Friday and hadn't bothered to tell me!!

Someone's in for an earful tomorrow morning!!!

I wonder how many others may not realise that they've missed theirs too!!

 

I read somewhere a day or two ago that the Indian Variant hospital admissions in Bolton were "substantially" amongst the unvaccinated, but no actual percentage given and why not? And are they amongst those who are most vulnerable but have refused offers of vaccination? Why not make the data public.
