I've always found it amazing how all these politicians can be put in charge of these departments without any knowledge of the jobs they are supposedly running.

Most need a kick a good kick up the backside and made accountable.

My daughter has to self isolate at home again, she is not allowed back to school until the 5th July along with the rest of her year group. Yet Wembley is allowing 40k plus fans for the remaining Euro games, the British grand prix is going to allow 140k fans. Yet my daughter is missing out on an education, she turned 17 in Feb and has Turner Syndrome, she is so low on self confidence and when both my daughter and son took me out for fathers day for a meal for the cashier to say "would the little girl like a lolly" its all having a major impact on her mental health.

That anti-lockdown demo in London yesterday - it's time BoJo, Nic, Mark and Paul ended lock down properly - before the people end it for them.

We'll all see the impact of home 'schooling' when this generation of school kids take over. It's going to be a rough old time I'm afraid - there's no way Mum and Dad can match the support delivered by a teacher. Not all parents will have schooled their kids to the same level or at all.

Schools have only just opened up - whole classes still missing out because they are isolating due to infection and on top of this we're about to hit the school Summer holidays.

I've been saying that for months, but for some reason people have had the living daylights scared out of them.

Did you see the article (I think it was the Mail) yesterday/today saying that kids had figured out that fruit juice would give a positive covid result thus getting them all time off school in isolation?

Well, I had my first jab on the 20th, cases of long Covid in younger and younger people finally convinced me it was a good idea for me as a fairly fit 42 year old. Also discovered that I can tolerate wearing a visor far longer than a mask (about half an hour) as a mask triggers my severe anxiety after about 10-15 minutes! :blue thumb: My arm hurt like hell for the next couple of days, but strangely enough I had to ask the doctor if he had given me the jab as I didn't even feel it at the time! :rolleyespink:

I was 'helping' my 5 year old grandson once a week with his home schooling I have probably set him back 6 months with his english. I couldn't get my head round the modern phonics method of teaching reading. Thank goodness he has gone back to school full time and can unlearn everything I told him.

Although they say phonics is much better way of teaching the language I'm not sure that the 'Synthetic Phonics' (the system that they teach) is necessarily the only way they should be teaching. There's a whole variety of methods of teaching the language, including Analytic Phonics as an example. I'm still wondering whether S. Phonics may be one of the causes of the atrocious and lazy way that younger people pronounce their words and slurring letters together or dropping some of them.

This footage of Prof. Witty being accosted whilst walking down the road. Those guys have had a good stiff talking to by the Police - they need a tidy fine - not a telling off.

Depends on what outcome Chris Whitty himself wanted - he may well have asked for a stern word and no more; I had cause to be dealing with the police over someone harassing me through work and I was quite specific with the police that whilst I would go to court if required, my preference was that there were words of one syllable had with the individual and draw a line under it as matter closed.

                              Vaccine deniers take note:

Respiratory consultant Tanveer Khalid said "The majority of very sick Covid patients we have on our wards are here because they have refused the vaccine."
