I have no desire to pick up a rapid test or any other type of test. I've had zero symptons associated with any variant.

And with these restrictions, I don't have much of a life so cannot be a threat to anyone. We still must wear masks and small shops are only allowed a few people in at a time.

If I do get really sick with something, then I'll consult a doctor.

Or maybe I've already had it and have long covid. The one where you can't stop eating sweets and wishing for spring :heehee:

I've got a cough, but I've tested twice now and it comes up negative.
Think it might be the paint fumes.

I've not had any test for covid, but looking around at the amount of people which an't working but still going out of a evening and away at weekends and the covid spreading (ie high case's) they must be testing postive, good excuse to get time of work, :sofa:

I'm still seeing neighbours spreading the virus. They were isolating but still having visitors who weren't wearing masks, then walking the dog and driving out for shopping. No wonder it is rampant around here. I think people have given up as they have been persuaded covid is no worse than a cold.

My Mrs is working well above her contracted hours due to staff shortages. Tuesday the 11th is her next day off, she has only had 2 days off since the 24th December. Today, tomorrow and Monday she is having to do 12 hour shifts. She phoned me this morning telling me that from Friday 14th through to Tuesday she is doing 5x12hr shifts on the belt end, we just have to crack on.

It's great we have such dedicated NHS staff like Mrs @gks - many thanks to her and all her colleagues for working such long tough hours in such a risky environment.

Your kind words are very much appreciated John.

My Mrs actually put her name forward from the beginning to do extra hours when needed, which others will have done in other sectors. As I said previously, she is more her bubbly self compared to the previous waves, which backs up that the new strain is not as server. Even though our local hospital has seen an increase in hospitalizations, visitors are still allowed. You have to phone and make an appointment first as they are operating on a one visitor at a time only, with a limit of 4 different visitors in a 1 hour visiting period if circumstances allow.

It must be costing absolute billions, to send out all these tests.

In reality it has got to stop one day.

When we start treating it like any other virus eg. Flu, why will there be a reason to keep testing people.

Unfortunately many selfish people are hoarding the free test kits, making a charge should hopefully stop that. We have been very careful, only using the kit when really necessary. Our grandchildren are being tested at school so they won't be affected. It will be those who work and need to test regularly will be worse off.

The government stopped pcr test to boost holidays and said to use latural flow test instead .
When people travel abroad there is not 100% chance that another country won't have a covid variant eg look at France another variant that has over 40 mutations..
The government advises to use latural flow before meeting anyone not in your household..
Now they say covid could be hear for 6 years or so ..no tests at all
The government said got symptoms get tested !
                        HOW! No tests

I think the eventual outcome will be people will just stop testing, and if you feel normal why not.
Its going to take years for the hysteria to die down.
I'm feeling less than 100% atm, but I'm testing negative.
I normally try to not spread even a cold, when I get one, which is probably what I have now, so I will lie low for a few days.
I think covid is going to be around for more than 6yrs so might as well get used to it.

I have had congestion for 2 years..which could be linked to health conditions I suffer from chest infections quite alot ..
But being a carer I still have to go out .

So with government science advice of symptoms for different variants how can you be 100% sure it's not covid with out a test ?

My thoughts are if you have a lung condition you dont even want to catch flu or even a cold for that matter, so I assume you are taking precautions.
No, you dont want to get covid, but you dont want anything else either, if you have been vaccinated, then you have done what you can.
