IMO, It's better to be safe than sorry besides it's no hardship to wear a mask and keep your distance.

and those figures would have been for the more dangerous Delta variant.

Covid is now resigned to the status of flu - in fact it looks to be less dangerous than flu - more of a light sniffles.

I see that Paul is reducing restrictions in NI - come on Mark - do something before you force us to break the rules through your ineptitude.

They are pretty much for the entire pandemic - so they are the true deaths FROM covid. Any death is tragic, no question of that, but for perspective in 2018 when flu had me on the ropes in ICU almost 30k people died from flu over one winter and that is not all that abnormal. To see numbers like those and know the damage that we have done to businesses, people's livelihoods, schools, children... it is simply horrific.

I find it interesting that up through most of the age brackets, the males deaths are significantly higher than the females. I suspect the only reason the females outstripping the males in number is the 85 and upward group is simply because there are more of them. You go into any old folks place and there seems to be one guy being stalked by two or more women!

I have asked some male friends if they will go into the home with me when the times comes to make it cheaper for us. They turned me down when they realized my plan included me pimping them out as a lunch/dinner escort to make money to pay the rent.. :heehee:

Our eldest has Covid again, and once again had felt pretty rough ( and sounded it too!)
He had it at the beginning of Dec and tested positive on Mon ( both cases backed up with a PCR). Apparently it's thought that he probably had the Delta version in Dec and is suffering from the Omicron one now.

There was something on the TV the other morning, (yeah I've actually started watching morning TV, sad I know), about how some people keep catching covid and some dont even seem to get it at all.
It was said that some people living in the same households dont catch it even though they are living in the same house.

I didn't watch it all, so I dont know the reason.:roflol:

I can believe that Pete.....not the daytime TV bit though!!!!

Our eldest and his girlfriend , have played it strictly by the rule book , working from home and limiting their social life drastically. She caught it in 2020 but our son didn't ( they've lived together for years). Son ,as I said ,first caught it Dec21.....she remained negative. She went to her parents up north for Christmas and she and her Dad tested positive.
And now moving on a few weeks and son has tested positive again and backed it up with a PCR.

Both have been jabbed, she has had her booster too but son couldn't because of having to wait after having Covid in Dec and will now obviously have to wait again.

They couldn't have done more .

I heard it said that there is some evidence that if you have recently had a cold it could possibly help you resist covid.
